Michigan: Governor Whitmer Signs Bill Funding Tipline to Turn in Gun Owners

Kinder logic. Do you get a timeout when the criminal busts the door down. You are safe to be robbed and murdered
Oh well, that settles it then. Who needs to worry about the safety of children when we have to worry about your one in a million fantasy?

"We made it so easy for everyone to get guns, that now we all have to have guns to defend ourselves from them!"

Nice work, America.

That is completely conjecture and an over simplification of the problem. The vast majority of legal, law abiding gun owners, no one has to worry about. The gun crime that you should be concerned with are those that illegally obtain and use those weapons in crime, which mostly occur in large, urban, Dem controlled cities.

If you want to crush the gun crime, crush the criminals. But we don't. Instead, we plea the charges down so the criminal can get out and repeat, again, and again. Those are the vast majority of gun crimes in this country. But ignore the data.

Storing guns unlocked and in area accessible to children appears to be more IMPORTANT than safety.
Why do you gun nuts dismiss safety of children?
You guys always claim that most gun owners are highly responsible, which I agree with, so what's the problem?
Can you cite anyone arguing that people should not safely store their guns?

I've stated that the vast majority of gun owners do store their guns safely.

Do you believe that some don't?

These are crimes.
Basic gun ownership and use... isn't.
I will never understand why you will go to any length to protect the bad gun owners.

Drinking isn't a crime, drunk driving is.
Gun Ownership isn't a crime, Allowing children access to those guns is a crime.

So... you -can't- cite anyone arguing that people should not safely store their guns.
You're arguing against something you cannot show exists.
Correct, and I think gun owners that are irresponsible and dangerous should be prosecuted.

Why do you want to protect these criminals?

For breaking what law?
Now you are just being unreasonable.
Is giving your young children accessibllity to firearms in a home where the guns aren't store safely, is this LEGAL? If it's legal, then I have no argument.
But when something happens because of NOT storing guns safely, then there are legal consequences.
Simple:
Some people think all gun owners are bad.
Sadly, some do, but don't group me in that category.

The legal requirement to secure your firearms has violated the constitution since 2008.
That is, it cannot be illegal to not secure your guns.

Always an excuse for any gun.
Guns don't Kill, right.

Look at, you, avoiding the point.
G'head. Do it again.

Why didn't it violate the Constitution pre 2008?
