Video footage released by the cartel members Tuesday shows childhood friends Roberto Olmeda, 20; Diego Lara, 20; Uriel Galván, 19; Dante Cedillo, 22; and Jaime Martínez, 21, kneeling next to each other in order.

The victims all have their faces bruised with tape over their mouths and their hands tied behind their backs. It is unclear what, if anything, they had done to get on the wrong side of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

In the video, three of the victims are lying face down next to each other. Another is lying down in the background as his friend is forced to beat, stab and decapitate him.

Blanca Trujillo, the state's special prosecutor for missing persons said that the families 'consider there is a high probability that the young people who appear in the photograph are their relatives.'

The gruesome discovery comes after police found a vehicle in flames with human remains inside Tuesday. Investigators confirmed that the car belongs to Olmeda. Galván's vehicle was located Sunday.

The Jalisco state medical examiner's office had yet to identify the remains as of Thursday.

The five friends gathered Friday to attend a fair in Lagos de Moreno and were on their way home when they mysteriously disappeared. They were last seen at a viewpoint by the side of a road in the neighborhood of San Miguel.

The corrupt Democrat Party's open borders policies help the Mexican Drug Cartels.
The Mexican Drug Cartels are even more violent than ISIS.
Open borders help the Democrat Party, but it hurts our country.

All it takes is an army of drones to clear all this up in about a weeks time.

Preferably attacking all the drug lords simultaneously while their guards are down.

If we could just legalize drugs then the cartels wouldl have to switch to something else like selling fake Aztec idols or running street level taco vending carts.

Or six year olds.

The legalization of drugs has not worked out well where drugs have been legalized. Not that we would ever legalize xylazine anyway.

The Cartels are working with China and Mexico in the very profitable business of illegal immigrant, sex trafficking and drug smuggling. America says and does NOTHING.

A drug cartel isn't a group of people sitting in a mansion together playing Nintendo that you can just drop a bomb on with a drone. Their members are all over in the community and taking out a leader is like playing wack-a-mole, a new one immediately pops up.

Not saying military operations couldn't impact these organizations and their operations, but these "do it in a week with drones" comments are extremely naive.

I have visited Mexico it is a great safe country to visit, unfortunately the news media focuses the worst on Mexico and gives the country a bad rap. We got problems with the cartels in the states too. It is easy to point the finger at Democrats, when really the problem has nothing at all to do with the Democrats.

You know what's interesting when I was visiting in Mexico and asked about the Cartels in the area I was told something interesting by many in that country, If you don't do drugs and don't go looking for drugs they will never bother you. I was told in Mexico a lot of Cartel violence is by cartels going after other cartels or people getting involved in drugs buying/selling.

Yeah it is terrible what is happening in the states with the cartels I get that, but part of this really is not Democrats or Republicans fault... it is the fault of people getting themselves in trouble by getting involved with drugs. Some of the victims of violence are not so innocent and in many ways it is the result of their own stupidity, they went looking for drugs and got involved with the Cartels somehow and they got hurt/killed. If you do your research on some of these victims.... they aren't the most innocent beings with no records, no history of being in gangs/cartels, or drug histories, in reality many of the victims are bad apples themselves.

Exactly this.

At its core, cartel violence is about competition for territory and access to smuggling routes. Community violence related to cartels is a side-effect, but most victims are either somehow involved in the cartel business or (unfortunately for them) close to someone involved.

True, but there hasn't even been a harsh word to Mexico or their Drug Cartels from the Democrats. When we make a big Fentanyl bust, there needs to be a very visible image of that person being locked up for life. At least show them there is a big price to pay. Military imo needs to be deployed into Mexico and at the border. It's a total shit show.

Infamous drug lord El Chapo's son Ovidio Guzman Lopez has been extradited from Mexico to the US to face drugs charges. Lopez was flown to Chicago Friday, where he'll face charges of smuggling huge quantities of meth and fentanyl across the border and into the United States. The drug lord - who is the son of Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman - is now in US custody ahead of trial, US Attorney General Merrick Garland announced. Garland said: 'This action is the most recent step in the Justice Department´s effort to attack every aspect of the cartel´s operations.'
