It was one game for a championship versus an exhibition. Not sure how much more clearly I can explain that.

Men’s sports consistently outdraw and generate more revenue than women’s. By a wide margin.

WNBA players were whining awhile back about their salaries, complaining that the men earn so much more.
Somebody did the math and it turned out they should have OWED the NBA for allowing them to lose money considering the miserable attendance and TV ratings.

WNBA and NBA are different insofar as the ticket price, television rights, and the teams are commercial enterprises.

USA Soccer is not a commerical enterprise when they are playing in international tourntaments. The IOC doesn’t offer prizemoney for winning the Olympics for example.

Thus this discussion of revenue via TV ratings is ridiculous. Moreso when the women’s team has historically been far more successful than the men’s team.
