That's the difference Trump is not fighting because he lost the election the fight is because it was stolen.
IMO? That is what these J6 hearings have been aimed at. To try to gaslight the entire electorate, the independents and moderates, the Trump never really believed the election was ever stolen. They want the American electorate to believe, in their hearts, that he always knew, that he lost.
I am just not seeing the proof.
In every broadcast, in all the media we read, it is always prefaced with, "the false claim," or "the debunked notion," that the election was stolen, which makes little difference. What is important, is whether Trump, and his supporters, really believed there was enough illegal and illicit vote harvesting, and electronic voting machine manipulation, to rig the election.
Both of these tactics? Are notoriously difficult to come up with hard evidence of. If it weren't, the bad actors, if they did use them, would not have used these.
Hell, the right-wing, and conservatives, have used voter caging and crosscheck to steal elections, and they have never been busted for
those tactics, and those tactics are far easier to prove.
See, here's the thing. This J6 commission, has called on aids, in Trump's circle, that told him, before January 6th, in no uncertain terms, that the vote was legitimate. So? IN their world view, he had to have known. For them? This is a slam dunk. Trump is a liar, a cheat, and a fraud.
The Jan. 6 committee laid out proof that the former president was told by staff that he lost reelection, but continued his attempts to remain in power anyway.

The House committee investigating the Capitol riot can prove former President Donald Trump knew the 2020 election was not stolen, according to a top member of the panel.

On the other hand, it is right there in the media, that we can read, they refuse to let member of congress be on that committee friendly to the Trump POV, or even let folks testify, to Trump's POV, as to why he refused to take the advice of those advisors.
In other words, a manufactured narrative. They will be telling that nation what reality is. Could it be true? Certainly, there is plenty of evidence for it. Yet? If they are doing everything they can to suppress the opposing arguments, without giving them a fair hearing?
It will only make Trump, and those who believe the opposing narrative, seem like they are being suppressed. The case that he "knew," does not seem credible, unless you call the aids he was listening to, and let them speak, in their own way, on their own time, questioned by folks friendly to them.
