We all have a need to be the "heroes in our own tale."

Did Hitler believe he was a good guy or a bad guy?
How about Pol Pot, Stalin, Jackson and the rest?

Did they wake up each morning saying "gonna commit some evil today," or, did they honestly believe they were acting honorably for the good of their nation?

But, that doesn't matter. How we see ourselves is ego. How the world perceives us is legacy. Remembered.

The world, with a few exceptions, sees these people as evil no matter how they perceived themselves.

Which brings us to the question at hand.

How does the world view you, your beliefs, your actions?
If you step away from yourself and look back would you see a good or bad guy?

Superior violence determines who is the good guy, and it always has and it always shall.

I don't think he believed in good and evil, only power and influence. Good and evil are like God. The exist whether you believe in them or not. The men you mentioned were consumed in evil.

Well I think people who try to convince little boys to be gay or cut off their little dingers should beaten into hamburger by baseball bats so I'm pretty sure the majority of the world will agree that I am a decent and good person.

/----/ He had to know he was doing things wrong, otherwise he wouldn't have used code words for his policies, like, the Final Solution to the Jewish Question meaning exterminate them. The murder of gypsies and the physically and mentally disabled were done mostly in secret, so were cruel medical experiments on prisoners. His excuse was to defend and strengthen the Fatherland. But, being a psychopath, Hitler compartmentalized his actions and kept an arm's length.

I think Hitler was consumed by a vision of Germania dominating the world. His speeches were often lies but his bombast could move the masses.
