I don't think the thread premise is meant to be taken literally. It's rhetorical. The idea is that an Islamic state is no different than a Christian state. Both are theocracies, both controlled by religious doctrine and ideology. The group ISIS is a terrorist group and promotes extremist, fundamentalist principles that the overwhelmingly vast majority of Muslims don't agree with: they don't agree with the tactics or behavior of ISIS and they don't want the type of Islamic state ISIS would set up. But the idea that a theocracy is a danger to a free society is there. The OP is making a comparison that is shocking in order to get people to think about the dangers of making Christianity or any religion a state religion, a national religion. We don't want that; it would be a slippery slope toward a loss of most of our civil rights and freedoms.

How do you know what "we" want? (PS---working in a professional
capacity in a muslim country does not get you in touch with the minds of
"MOST"------not even a sampling of "MOST" How much time did you
