sep 21 2017 Jurors for the capital murder trial of Quinton Tellis, accused in the 2014 burning death of Mississippi teen Jessica Chambers, will travel more than 200 miles and spend more than a week sequestered.
District Attorney John Champion, who will prosecute the case, discussed logistics for the high-profile trial Thursday. He said jury selection will begin Oct. 9 in Magnolia, a Pike County town of about 2,000 along the Louisiana border.
Tellis is accused of setting Chambers, 19, afire on a rural road in Panola County's tiny Courtland community, about 60 miles south of Memphis, the evening of Dec. 6, 2014. She was burned over more than 98 percent of her body and died a few hours later at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
A motive has never been revealed, but the two knew each other in Courtland before Tellis moved to Monroe, La., where he is charged in another slaying.

Will whites riot if Tellis is acquitted? Blacks sure rioted a couple weeks back when that St Louis white cop was acquitted of murdering a black guy.
