McCain said trump's withdrawal comments emboldened Assad.

They are demanding an investigation immediately.
No they aren't. they are denying any such attack happened. Russia said it already investigated.

That's not what happened at the UN today. And it was the Russian military who claimed they couldn't find any trace of chemical weapons used. Hells bells they couldn't even find any patients.

But nonetheless both countries want an on the ground investigation.

"Moscow is ready to serve as a guarantor of security for those OPCW experts who would inspect the site of the incident, Nebenzia added, stressing the need for the probe to be carried out without delay. The experts may "immediately, tomorrow, fly to Damascus," the diplomat said.

"There, the Syrian authorities and Russian troops will provide conditions to travel to the area of the alleged incident for them to familiarize themselves with the situation," Nebenzia said, reminding the UNSC member-states' representatives that "that is what President Trump and other western leaders called upon us to undertake."

The Syrian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar Jaafari said his country is also ready to welcome the OPCW team as soon as possible and to provide them with everything necessary for a comprehensive investigation.

"My country, Syria, stresses its unlimited cooperation with the OPCW to fulfill the commitments stated in the convention of the prohibition of the development, production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons," he said.

Highlighting the importance of a swift investigation, Nebenzia noted that it should be conducted on the ground, and not through third parties. Moscow has repeatedly criticized the OPCW investigation into last April's Khan Sheikhoun incident as "unprofessional." One of the major flaws of the Joint Investigative Mechanism (JIM), as pointed out by Moscow, was that the whole investigation was conducted remotely.

As a result, the findings of the OPCW report, that blamed the attack on the Syrian government, were mostly based on speculation by analysts, accounts by unidentified witnesses and material evidence submitted by third parties with no chain of custody being implemented."

Just another example of the deep problems trump is causing thruout the world...
When the press called out Assad for his chemical weapons, he said it was” fake news.”
I wonder where he got that from.

And it was the Russian military who claimed they couldn't find any trace of chemical weapons used. Hells bells they couldn't even find any patients.
And you believe that nonsense?

Good for you.

Damn straight I do because I know the players and the White Helmets and Jaysh al Islam are not to be trusted at all. There was absolutely no reason for Assad to have used chemical weapons since they'd won the city back from AQ and brokered a prisoner release.

They had finally kicked the AQ's asses in Douma. The only ones that stood to gain if chemical weapons were used or reported to be used would be AQ.

You people criticizing John McCain...a real American Hero while defending a Dictator wannabe need mental help.
McCain has stabbed the GOP in the back so many times I can't even count them. Your attacks against Trump are purely the product of brain damage. You supported a traitor for 8 years, and now you're supporting a coup against a lawfully elected President.
Voting against the horrendous Trumpcare took courage since all the other Trump sheep voted yes.

There was absolutely no reason for Assad to have used chemical weapons
Of course, there is, and it is the same reason he has used them many times: to discourage people from "harboring" the "terrorists". Again, it's not a secret.

Oh bullshit. The battle for Douma was over. Why incur the wrath of the international community when they had beat the shit out of AQ in the city? Ridiculous.

The battle for Douma was over.
Clearly it was not, as there has been and continues to be intense fighting in Douma. The facts outweigh your spin, my man.

Al Jazeera although being Qatar's state media is fairly accurate and only a few hours ago reported that its over for Jaish al Islam. Ceasefire in effect.

Deal reached to surrender last rebel-held town in Eastern Ghouta
The agreement reached between Jaish al-Islam and Russia is expected to see fighters evacuate to northern Syria

From the article...

"The agreement, which was reached between Jaish al-Islam and Russia on Sunday, includes a ceasefire and the evacuation of fighters and civilians from the area.

"According to people who helped negotiate this agreement, Jaish al-Islam has agreed with the Russian forces to begin evacuating with their families, as well as anyone else who wants to leave," Al Jazeera's Natasha Ghoneim, reporting from Amman, said.

Under the agreement, Russian military police will move into Douma to keep Syrian forces out, added Ghoneim.

The Russian army also said on Sunday it had struck a deal with Jaish al-Islam to withdraw about 8,000 of its fighters and some 40,000 of their relatives.

Major General Yuri Yevtushenko was quoted as saying by The Associated Press news agency that a convoy of 100 buses had entered Douma to begin the evacuation."

Ummmm....................did you bother to read your whole link, or are you just cherry picking again, because in your link, it says that the deal was reached AFTER the chemical attack happened. They got hit with chemical weapons, and THEN decided to leave.

From your link.............................

Jaish al-Islam, the last remaining rebel group in Eastern Ghouta, has agreed to leave its holdout in Douma for an opposition-held area in northern Syria, according to opposition negotiators and the Russian foreign ministry.

The deal came a day after a chemical attack killed scores of people and affected hundreds of other Douma residents. The attack prompted global outrage but was dismissed as "fabrication" by the Syrian government, whose forces on Friday launched an offensive against the rebels under the cover of air raids.

No. Assad's forces had already won Douma. The cease fire was negotiated afterwards. Timeline is everything. The gas attack was bullshit.

BTW over 2,000 were killed in the battle for Douma in the past couple of weeks. The Syrian Army prevailed in taking back Douma from the Saudi backed terror group Jaish al Islam.

Trump doesn't need to blame himself, that's what he has RINO McCain for. When is the last time McCain did anything helpful for his party anyway? And why hasn't that jerk retired---- still need his senatorial healthcare so the taxpayer can pay for his brain transplant too?

RINO McCain, seriously? RINO is republican in name only dude.Mccain is not one in name only,he IS the regular republican part of the corrupt two party system that plots to destroy america and americans. He is part of that party same as Bush and Romney and Bob Dole are all in,the good old boy network against americans, Trump is the RINO here,he is not part of that corrupt establishment that they and the clintons and the obamas are all part of.lol

There’s also a third process to remove Trump from office: the political process.

By the time the Mueller investigation is concluded with indictments issued, or impeachment started, and the matter goes before the courts, or a trial in the Senate begins, it could be early 2020 with the campaigning season well underway.

The American people will likely determine Trump’s fate.

You're assuming the status quo. There is a real possibility that Trump can do some thing stupid (or stupider than he already has) to so outrage Ryan, that Ryan will do the right thing (if possible) and put our country first, and not his party or ideology.

Postscript: On topic, Trump's comment on Syria is an example of an inexperienced person who won't listen to others and acts spontaneously.

No.. Actually Trump is the FIRST PRESIDENT in too long a time to STOP repeating the SAME ASSININE mistakes about "turning the Arab world into Unicorn Democracies" .. We've had some years bombing 4 Arab countries a year since Clinton. Didn't seem to be learning how naive and STUPID we are about interventions. Almost --- got Obama hosed in Syria. Fortunately --- Putin backed him down and saved his ass on that one.

I'm all for ending our INSANE Middle East policy.. Those countries HAVE TO BE RUN by despots and thugs. That's the history of it and the people tend to prefer to stay alive under those conditions rather than end up looking like the garbage dump that Raqqa is today..T

Too bad Assad is a tyrant. that's life in the Arab world.

No Spring this Spring. Sorry war hawks..

Trump has no clue. His reactions are not thought out, and he does not have the knowledge, experience or temperament to be President of the United States.

We have to learn from history, on that we agree. Bush, "bring it on" and Trump, "Fire and Fury" was reactive nonsense something Clinton and Obama avoided.

The problems in the middle east are formidable, and the seminal cause was the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, the industrial worlds lust for oil and the creation of Israel. None of that was Clinton or Obama's fault, nor Trumps. But Trump exacerbates everything with his bombastic rhetoric and impulsive behavior.

These FACTS should be the center of any discussion on US foreign policy.
You have to be a profound numskull to believe Obama's foriegn policy was effective or beneficial. How effective was it to overthrow Gadaffi? How many times did Syria cross Obama's red line?

Just admit that you attack Trump because he's a Republican, and for no other reason.

Like i got done saying,he is a RINO,in name only. That is WHY he attacks him.

Assad's forces had already won Douma.
Wrong. There was heavy fighting in Doumaliterally the day of the chem attack, and there has been heavy fighting in Douma since. 100% wrong, and you are making up all of that nonsense. Spare me...find someone else more gullible to peddle your nonsense to...

The RW nuts are telling this lie....defending their Dear Leader.

Classic projection....we don't have a "Dear Leader"...we've got a son of a ***** billionaire who whipped your cow with a tenth of the money she spent and after fumigating the White House, is cleaning up the rest of Bush's and Barry's messes. It surprises nobody you don't have a clue what's going on, hence the constant lies and accusations based on your own insecurities.
The UNDERSTATEMENT of the century, best damn post on this thread bar none, hands down,no contest. This post was so dead on i cant add anything more to this excellent well thought you post.
