It's too bad that you clowns don't have the brain power to understand the role of the National Guard. First off dummy, they are not arresting anybody. The National Guard is there for the optics. There presence is to discourage the bad guys from committing crimes. When they do break the law it is local police that arrests them, NOT the National Guard.

When I was in the real world, my primary duty was that of an electronics technician. As an alternate duty, I volunteered for and was trained as a Security Police augmentee, a role I served in until I reached the rank of Staff Sergeant and was no longer qualified. I was trained specifically to function as a guard.

In about 30 minutes, I was qualified to serve in that capacity. My duties were simple: I was issued an M16 and a radio. I was assigned to guard an aircraft. I was briefed and given the usual radio protocols. I had to make periodic status reports and was provided with a code word to indicate I needed an immediate response from the reaction team. I was encouraged to call for help if I suspected anything out of the ordinary.

Wow, guy, it's kind of easy to do something when there was absolutely no chance of someone trying to steal that aircraft. It actually kind of sounds like "Make work" duty.

Are you telling me the average National Guard troop lacks the ability to do that?

I'm saying I wouldn't trust guardsmen to be crossing guards, much less policemen.

My time in the guard left me with a certain contempt for the concept, to be honest.

Our "Civil Defense" training consisted of a one-day session in December, during which everyone was largely bored and disinterested. Oh, yeah, and we didn't have enough wooden batons or face shields to go around, so we had to share.

The Dems had NO PROBLEM using the National Guard in the past.

In a limited capacity for a one-time event. Or a non-event, because after Chauvin was found guilty, everyone was satisfied and nothing happened.

As someone who served in the IL ARNG back in the 1980s, I couldn't imagine a worse idea than sending out the guard to do law enforcement.

They aren't trained for it. (except maybe the MP Units, more on them in a second).

Your Average Guard unit gets maybe one day a year of Civil Disturbance Training. I recall that my unit lacked sufficient batons and face shields, so they had to train one platoon at a time.

The one thing I do remember, though, was a very thoughtful Officer who told us, "If we are out on CD duty, you have to remember that those are not the enemy out there. Those are your fellow citizens, they are damned angry about something, and they have every right to be."

Now, the few MP Units we have MIGHT Be good for the roll. I think we had two companies of MPs when I was in, but my memory is foggy after 40 years. The problem there is that most of the guys in those units are cops in the civilian world, so you are really robbing Peter to pay Paul.

What's immigration like in Japan? What's the percentage of black people in their population? Hispanics? How many do they have? I looked up their population. I suggest you do the same. The Japanese just aren't as proud of their criminals as democrats are.

He thinks all the efforts in DC did was lead to the arrest of nine people? Is he serious? First of all that is nine fewer people committing murder and mayhem against the good citizens of DC. Second of all, the murder rate is far down since Trump did this. Why the mayor thinks that the good people of Chicago would not want their children protected also is beyond me.

Japan is 99.9% not White people. That blows your argument about the superiority of white people.

Immigrants aren't the problem with our crime rate. Immigrants actually have a lower crime rate because they didn't want to attract the attention of ICE even before Trump turned it into the Gestapo.

Racism is a problem because we've turned blacks into a permanent underclass. That's on us.

But the other major causes - addiction, mental illness, poverty, and gun proliferation- The Japanese address those, and have little crime.
