We cannot allow the government to decide what subjective comments are acceptable and which should land you in prison.
On the contrary, we must allow government to decide, just as we continue to insist that government maintains some control over how our capitalist system functions in a 'socially' responsible manner. Our continuing success depends on it!

However, Canada's continuing status at the top is on shaky grounds. Our capitalism could suddenly morph into American style greedy capitalism, for the sake of being permitted to yell 'FIRE' in a crowded theatre.
China most likely has hit on the solution with it's policy of maintaining strict control over it's capitalism by bringing down the axe on subversives who intend to upset their system.
The tactics of the few Uighurs or the few H.K.'ers can't be allowed to upset China's hugely prospering agenda that affords the common good to over 1 1/2 billion people.
If anything, Canada should be more vigilant in preventing US influence and ideals from creeping in to our country.
Could it be that China has found the only way forward in this 21st. century, for the good and welfare on large populations? Will rational control provided by communist leadership prove to be the recipe for success?
