Unions are neither good or bad. They can be a counterbalance to abusive management, but they can also cause abuses that cause companies to fail. If Amazon's employees feel they need a union, well and good. If they don't, they don't. Many non-union employers treat their employees better than union employers. Costco, for instance, is a non-union employer and I've never heard anything bad about their management style, the employees I've talked to over the years are quite happy working there. AT&T is a union employer, and most employees hate the union as much as management.
