Mandated defense cuts could lead to war, top US military official says

Everyone knows China needs the strongest military in the world so they can protect their interests here.

China is far from the strongest military in the world and the military they have us needed to keep 1.5billion people in line

That’s true, but they are building their military funded by U.S. tax payers, they are not cutting, they are also stealing from us and still manipulating their currency, The Chinese do not publically report all they spend on their military. We need to bring manufacturing back here with tax reform, unleash our energy production, cut the EPA not the military and entitlements have to be reformed. It has to happen, and I think Romney and a more conservative congress will do what has to be done.

You know..I like ya Jake..but why would you think he'd even be in a position to cave if you are supporting Romney?

Most of the liberals seem to like young Jake:eusa_whistle:

And so many of the center and the right here as well.

The point is, almost everyone from far right to far left know you are full of crappe, Jroc? Tis what tis, son.

Oh please...

Stop trying to build up the Chinese military as a threat to the US. They have no potential to extend their power beyond their shores. They can't even take out Taiwan

The Chinese have not 1/4th of our weight militarily, Jroc, so stop your nonsense right now, boy, and take responsibility like a man. You are wrong on this, like so much.

Stop trying to build up the Chinese military as a threat to the US. They have no potential to extend their power beyond their shores. They can't even take out Taiwan

The CIA over-flew China, in B-24 Liberators, from bases in Tibet and Taiwan, 1948, in excess of the later Black Cat Squadron, which is easier to find, on the internet. This sort of adventurist shitting around defined US-Chinese relations, since Chiang landed 2 million Mandarins on Cantonese Taiwan, and killed a lot of the 18 million islanders, to dominate them, while China developed a waiting game.

China took Tibet, 1949.

China waits, after the US wandered up around the Yalu, in 1950, to get thrown back, to parallel 38, where the US and UN forces stayed, until the truce, 1953. China has in the meantime accumulated 2+ billion dollars, of US debt, while Russia, Japan, and other nations also hold a lot of this.

China, Japan, and UK interests own as much business property in the US, as Americans do. China is waiting, for the US to really fuck up, and given the concurrently high levels of greed and stupidity, in Americans and their government of circle-jerking geeks, China won't have to wait, forever.

China is emerging, from third-world status, in a big hurry. The Chinese economy has more estimable value, than does the US economy, which is deeply contaminated, by lawyers, politicians, are retards in traffic, which add costs, to anybody trying to manufacture, farm, or market anything, at all.

The Chinese have a waiting strategy. The US has a hustling strategy, which is not a strategy, but a scam. None of the red-white-and-BLUE babies will bust their own scam, so the Chinese strategy of waiting will continue, until the US fucks up or fails.

So the USA owns how much of interests in China, UK, and Japan?

So what are those exact percentages?

So I suspect bobgnote is greatly exaggerating the danger.

Numbers, boy, numbers.

The point is China's influence is growing, ours is waning, because of our liberal big government policies. We don’t cut our military willy-nilly, that doesn't work it never has worked. Stability in the world depends on us like it or not. Like I said before if not us who? Nobody seems to want to answer that question.

The point is that Jroc's point is not important. The Chinese are far, far, far behind us militarily. They cannot catch us for several decades. Even more importantly, they aren't much interested militarily beyond their borders other than the South China Sea.

Your unfounded assertions don't count, son.

You are projecting your own inadequacies on me? You have made no important point is the point. You are laughable.

Hey. Psst. DD JS. Heard of the perennial TRADE DEFICIT?

Heard of the BRICS nations? Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa are going to set up their own bank, in anticipation of the dollar fucking up.

The days of deficit spending to protect the crime pays at a deficit economy are numbered. What that number is depends on how the chips fall. But they will fall, soon. I have not yet begun to discuss "danger," but that does not mean danger does not exist, especially given your 'tude.

You are not very vigilent, are you.

US holdings of foreign debt and real estate in foreign countries won't come up, in my search. Maybe Malcolm Forbes or Warren Buffett or Bill Gates knows.

Chinas influence is growing because they used to have no influence. It still is minuscule when compared to the US/NATO/Japan/S Korea economic and military influence block.
Nobody is advocating cutting the military willy nilly but looking at the global mission performed by our military and insisting that the rest of our influence block pick up more of the burden.
The US should not ask our people to pay more and make do with less while we provide free military protection to the rest of the world.

Our military presence abroad is NOT to "provide free military protection to the rest of the world."

The rest of the world benefits from the US maintaining global stability and providing real time defense on short notice.
EU needs to step up and bear the bulk of the workload in their sphere of influence. So does Japan and S Korea.
No reason US taxpayers should make do with less while we serve as the worlds policeman
The US stepped in and drove Iraq out of Kuwait while the wealthy Kuwaitis sat the war out in England. We gave them their country back, put out their oil fires, provided military protection......what have they done for us lately?

We are NOT serving "as the world's policeman." You need to stop repeating that untruth.

The US has not been invaded in 200 years and there is no country on earth capable of invading our shores. That is the actual defense of our country

90 percent of our military dollar goes to projecting our power around the globe. If you don't want to call that being the worlds policeman....give it a name
