AMITE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Amite County deputies announced a man was arrested in connection to an ATV crash that killed a 10-year-old boy.
Investigator Danny Meaux, with the Amite County Sheriff’s Office, said the incident occurred on Old 24 Compromise Road between 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. on April 6, 2025.
According to Meaux, the victim, Jordan Hill, was on an ATV when he was hit by a truck.
Investigators said the suspect, Cody Rollinson, was arrested the day of the incident. He was charged with possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and felony leaving the scene of an accident.
Rollinson made his initial appearance in court last week, and his bond was set at $41,000. He is currently out on bond.
According to Meaux, investigators are waiting on the results of a toxicology report, and additional charges are pending. Several agencies, including the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), are assisting with the investigation.
Why isn't he being charged with murder, especially since he left the scene?
Why was such a low bond given after he took the life of a 10yr old child?
