Man charged after Mississippi 10-year-old killed in ATV crash

Yes. I also understand what resisting arrest it. Karmelo didn't fight with the police. He was taken into custody without incident. So was this guy. What he's charged with is a different story. Since there is nothing in the hit and run indicating premeditated there will be no murder charge. Karmelo not only planned to kill he threatened murder.
So, in your eyes if a white man wants to put his hands on me, he is free to do so. I just have to accept that, if someone tells you not to fk with them, then leave them alone.

So a 10 yo is out on a road driving an ATV; no license perchance? Yes; very sad but why was he on THE ROAD!!!

Yes, in Australia, ATVs generally require a license to be driven on public roads, and they need conditional registration. You need a Car (Class C) license to drive a quad bike or ATV.

So the kid was illegally using an ATV; sounds more like a Darwin Award. I'd be charging the parents as well; leaving the scene is still a crime. (Was the kid a passenger; who else was in the ATV???)

Greg
Why are you talking about Australia? This happened in Mississippi. The United States.

In Mississippi, there is no minimum age requirement to drive an ATV. There is a limit to the cc's certain ages are allowed to operate. In the case of the 10 year old in the OP, the limit is 70 cc's. Also, anyone under 16 has to wear a helmet.

But none of that helps if you are hit by a truck.

LOL

The greater charges require information and belief, or an indictment.

Its hit and run though with a fatality. And he was drunk. I got no sympathy for that. Why didnt he stop to see if there was something he could do?

"f a white man wants to put his hands on me, he is free to do so.".....nope. Not at all.

"if someone tells you not to fk with them, then leave them alone."........................yep.

Happy now?

No evidence that I saw that the driver was drunk. That's why I was looking for the Toxicology results. You got any info on that?

Greg

Throw him in prison for the rest of his sorryass life!
I have absolutely ZERO compassion for intoxicated drivers.

Most of the people in this nation are intoxicated, doctors give them all kinds of drugs, even blood pressure meds make you dizzy.
Although, I do agree we shouldn't drive when smoking pot.

So any age can drive on a road without a license? You sure about that?

AMITE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Amite County deputies announced a man was arrested in connection to an ATV crash that killed a 10-year-old boy.

Investigator Danny Meaux, with the Amite County Sheriff’s Office, said the incident occurred on Old 24 Compromise Road between 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. on April 6, 2025.

According to Meaux, the victim, Jordan Hill, was on an ATV when he was hit by a truck.

Investigators said the suspect, Cody Rollinson, was arrested the day of the incident. He was charged with possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and felony leaving the scene of an accident.

Rollinson made his initial appearance in court last week, and his bond was set at $41,000. He is currently out on bond.

According to Meaux, investigators are waiting on the results of a toxicology report, and additional charges are pending. Several agencies, including the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), are assisting with the investigation.

Why isn't he being charged with murder, especially since he left the scene?

Why was such a low bond given after he took the life of a 10yr old child?

Was the 10-year-old on a highway on a ATV? I do think the man should have stopped and helped the child, he may have saved his life.

You do not have the right to kill because someone touched you.

They have to get lab tests back to be certain. Likley, more charges will be forthcoming.

I can answer that for you. Its because us white people have the courts on lock. Most laws dont apply to white people. We get a pass. We also get free gasoline at any US gas station. The government mails us debit cards with unlimited gas station funds. We dont even have to pay for candy and soda inside. :dunno:

Eddie Murphy went undercover and what you said is all true.

Karmelo is going to prison, you know that, right?
And his family will lose twice whatever they gained from him taking another young man's life for no reason. Watch.
Is Caysen Allison going to prison? How much is his family going to lose?

In idaho if that 10 year old isn't wearing a DOT approved helmet, the father/mother would be charged

Good question. The article does say they are waiting for toxicology reports.

Sadly they rarely punish people for DUI to the level that they should.

Yep. It would be safer for a 10-year-old to drive a car than it is an ATV. In a car when you wreck you have an outer shell to protect you. On an ATV when you hit something, the ATV stops. Your head does not. It is propelled into whatever you hit.
