The East Germans were the ones living under communism

Yeah, I thought about that after I posted it and I didn't express what I meant properly.

The country being divided impacted everyone, not just those living in east Germany and I remember how jubilant and happy many of the West Germans were when the country was reunited in spite of them not having to endure living under communism.

I should have expressed it better but what also went through my mind is only polling a segment of the population creates a result that is not representative of the whole.

I've visited Germany once, right after the wall feel but only saw the West.

I went during the Communist time. I’ll never forget it. I don’t know how people could live like that.
