Trump wants to end mail voting. The Supreme Court’s conservative justices appear eager to assist.
The Republican National Committee and the Trump administration want to overturn mail ballot deadlines in 29 states.
While this case does not directly confront the recent phenomenon of mail-in balloting, some of the justices appear ready to attack the practice itself as being...are you ready for it...a "threat to democracy."
Since this is ancient history, it might be helpful to review the tidal wave of mail-in bullshit and what caused it.
The Pandemic, regardless of what it really did and threatened to do, caused millions of Americans to fear going to the polls with thousands of other potentially infected humans to cast their vote. Leftist legislators, Secretaries of State, and even local operatives saw an opportunity for massive fraud, with mail-in (and ballot box) votes having almost none of the security of in-person and traditional Absentee Ballot votes, and the result was a preposterous 81 million votes for the non-campaigning, incompetent zombie of a man, Joe Biden. This alone was cause for alarm, as it was simply not possible that he could legitimately amass that total, but the "beauty" of it was, with these bogus processes, there was no way to prove the fraud without a massive effort to review every stinkin' ballot, contact a huge number of purported voters to verify that they had prepared and sent them, and that very process would have cast the result of the election into doubt for at least another year. In effect, mail-ins provided the PERFECT means of stealing an election; the fraud is virtually undetectable! Hence, they can continue to say, "There was no fraud, because you can't prove it!"
In a sane world, State legislatures would have said, in effect, "Well, the Pandemic is now history, so we can drop this mail-in ballot bullshit and go back to normal." But the Democrats would NEVER walk away from the process that gave them a victory they never should have had, and they have openly, enthusiastically, and totally fought to keep mail-ins in the mix of possible voting methods.
But it remains bullshit, and God bless Our Beloved President for keeping the hope alive that mail-ins will one day become part of the sad history of the Pandemic, gone and largely forgotten.
