MAGA R.I.P. need America First Party

Look at who is pissing and whining the worst with just the talk of SNAP reform: Junk food producers and Big Grocery.

SNAP is literally driving up the cost of food.

Inflation always follows government spending because it is closer to a bottomless pool of money when debt is of no concern.

It's the government's job to create conditions where less people fall through the cracks, not to figure out how pretend that giving away money will ever make up for their failures and do little more than encourage folks to demand more of what has been proven not to work.

"Throw more money at the problem we are incapable of fixing", is a stupid idea that should have died way back when we first crossed the line into debt that exceeded our GDP. Now our unfunded liabilities are greater than half the entire world's wealth, and stupid folks still think we can tax our way to prosperity.

America First denotes a set of policies in the United States that emphasize taking foreign policy and domestic policy decisions which serve the interests of the United States before the interests of all other nations and peoples. This typically manifests itself in policies of non-interventionism, American nationalism, and protectionist trade policy.

The term was promoted by President Woodrow Wilson in his 1916 presidential campaign that pledged to keep America neutral in World War I. A more non-interventionist approach gained prominence in the interwar period (1918–1939); it was also advocated by the America First Committee, a non-interventionist pressure group against U.S. entry into World War II.

A century later, President Donald Trump used the slogan in his 2016 presidential campaign and presidency (2017–2021, 2025–present), emphasizing the U.S.'s withdrawal from international treaties and organizations in the administration's foreign policy. Some media critics have derided Trump's use of the America First policy as "America Alone".

The America First Party was an isolationist political party which was founded on January 10, 1943. Its leader, Gerald L. K. Smith, was the party's presidential candidate in the 1944 U.S. presidential election.

Background

Party founder Gerald L. K. Smith had previously been a key part of the Union Party, which eventually split with Smith over his racial and antisemitic views. In the years following the split, Smith acted as an activist and fundraiser for the Republican "Old Guard". Smith adopted their reactionary version of isolationism and eventually sought an alliance with the America First Committee, although they found Smith to be too ideologically focused. However, there was common ground between Smith and the America First Committee regarding Jews and elements of fascism. When the America First Committee disbanded in 1941, some of its associates found their way into Smith's orbit and along with previous associates with the Union Party, founded the America First Party.

Wiwkipedia rewrites history again.

"Isolationist" is a term coined by the Wilsonian interventionists, to smear and belittle those who wanted nothing to do with Europe's endless military squabbles....Turns out that they were right.

This is all you baby.
You mean men in women's sports? That's serious?
Your party, a party that has no policies but never Trump? That kind of serious?
Your party that shuts down the government, and for what? That kind of serious?
Your party that opened up the borders for 4 years to unvetted illegals? That kind of serious?
America First? Where?
I have to laugh at you Zinc :auiqs.jpg:

The American Right has several perfectly reasonable positions and concerns.

Unfortunately, it has been manipulated by the wrong voices and has gone down the wrong road.

America needs a strong and serious GOP. For a change. Before it's too late.
You hate half the country. Real unadulterated hate. White males and White Christians are the worst evil in human history to you. Democrats have constantly moved further leftward for many decades. And now those who helped it inside the party are leaving as they age and see what they have done and still not admit it. Our nation with your party is simmering. Much of it for nothing. With elections I do not expect 100%. I am a realist. However, on the Republican side, we have been kicked to the gutter at times. we live with "influencing" as the movement of politics. When we need good government. All of these TV stations and much of it is used for propaganda.

''...By 120 years later, the Madisonian model had been discarded. The states lost their powers as checks on the federal government they had created, and the Wilsonian model — named after Woodrow Wilson — took effect. This model holds that the feds may govern in any area for which there is a national political will, except that which is expressly prohibited to them in the Constitution.

The subtext of the Wilsonian model is that the states and the people need the permission of the feds to do nearly everything. And those prohibitions — like “Congress shall make no law abridging … the freedom of speech” — well, they only apply to Congress, not to the president. Wilson actually made this legally erroneous and law-school-flunking argument when defending his arrests for speech he hated and feared.

Every president from Wilson to Donald Trump has wittingly or unwittingly embraced the Wilsonian model; and so has every Congress.

The growth of government and the diminution of personal freedom are often tied to wars and economic crises — real, created for this purpose and imagined. History teaches that personal liberty once lost does not come back, and government power once acquired remains...''

While I'm with Dr. Paul 99.9% of the time, the founders would have shit a barnyard of chickens as foreign invaders came here with the purpose of sucking off the welfare system, that they would have equally recoiled in terror over....Friedman had it right: you can have a lavish welfare state or open borders, but not both.

Likewise, the importation of the literal barbarians would have also been a non-starter.

Nobody needs a warrant to repel an invasion.

That's one of Judge Nap's articles.

But, yeah, I agree with you there.

If only it was contained to that extent, though. If only...

When you finally realize that Trump and MAGA never had your best interest at heart

Middle class now in serious frog boiling mode and being liquidated by our political class, that means 98% of the people in DC

Groceries, gas and housing expensive to unaffordable

One of the above is Trump’s sworn enemy, the other is his new BFF. Figure it out!

Like it or not, either America Firster take over the RNC or a Third Party will arise
The party of Bush and Cheney is gone. From now on, the Republicans will be a conservative party, fighting for middle class America, or they will be out of business, because people aren't going to come out and vote for liberalism, light. It ain't happening.

A lot of our founding fathers were liberals and had a better understanding of what conservatism is than most modern conservatives.

Bad answer.

I'll go a bit slower this time.

Anti immigration (read: anti-open-borders conservatives) will run the Republican Party, or they can look forward to never being in power again.

Well Trump pretended that’s what he was but we learned the hard way he wasn’t

Astronomical amount, perhaps $2 Trillion in Medicaid sent overseas, $4 Trillion in untraceable payments sent last year, hundreds of thousands illegally received, an entire taxpayer funded infrastructure dedicated to transporting illegals from all over the world to America, HHS knowingly trafficking children, and so on…

And no one held to account

Are you suggesting that our founding fathers were not concerned with the problems associated with foreign influence, or that they didn't take the sovereignty of our republic seriously?

Iran, the continues swabbing of Netan-Yahoo's ass, the continued shoveling of money at Ukraine, the sabre rattling off the coast of Venezuela...Your predictable arguments in favor of those notwithstanding, the 40-and-under crowd hates all of them.
Iran was not a war, it was a removal of their nuclear weapons program
Israel/Gaza was not a US war either
Ukraine was giving military aid to weaken Russia without risking US lives, but not a war.
Venezuela could be a necessary regime change of a narco-state, but not a real war
Promises aren't action....They want action.
2,000,000 illegals deported is action.

Every dime the states get from the federal government came from the states. A great number of states have balanced budget amendments in their constitutions. A great deal of federal money is going to states that although they may provide a lot of revenues, they are getting a lot more of it back and are still running a deficit in their own accounting.

Costs are skyrocketing in healthcare because the federal government is footing so much of the bill. Insurance costs are out of control, because the market they can draw on is larger and further away from the consumer. It has gotten to a point that they don't even care if we are pissed off, because we will continue to pay them ungodly amounts of money monthly, for lack of an environment that would encourage more competition in the market.

Every one of the states has the ability to manage their affairs, we could encourage slashing federal taxes, reform federal income tax requirements, leave the money in the states and with the people. If the people want something better, let them get with their state representatives and figure out what needs to be done, instead of some stupid idea of false altruism many are allowed to believe pretending they can be considered good people simply by spending other peoples' money.

Take note, what I am talking about is not going to be easy, there will be a lot of pissing and whining, but when are we going to stop pretending, suit up, and do what needs to be done? No excuses, because the perpetual excuse for failure has always been our downfall.
I agree that the more we send to the states, like Education money and delete the Department of Education, the better.

It could be done in phases, weaning the states off Federal dollars, but it would be a Battle Royale.
