We both know that isn't going to happen. The bottom line is if you know a particular area floods a lot then stay away from that particular area when heavy rains are expected and don't build, live, or have businesses there. This is not rocket science. The answer isn't to spend billions of dollars trying to fight a river which can rise up 26 feet in 45 minutes because not even billions of dollars are going to save you from that.
I'm sure they have more personal experience with flooding in that region, even though I was there during the 1986 flood. The gauges and alarms will be installed now. It's a shame that didn't happen when it could have.Don’t you think the people that live there know the area and its history and needs better then you?
Yes trump admin will fix the problem.I'm sure they have more personal experience with flooding in that region, even though I was there during the 1986 flood. The gauges and alarms will be installed now. It's a shame that didn't happen when it could have.
Well then, it's not the government's fault if you are stupid and the government shouldn't have to spend billions and billions of dollars if you are stupid. We both know that isn't going to happen.
Let us know what “flood prevention infrastructure” can prevent a river from raising 24’ in an hour.In 2021, the Biden administration awarded Kerr County $10.2 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, which could have been used for flood prevention infrastructure. But commissioners, facing political pressure from conservative residents, opted not to pursue a warning system.
At an April 2022 meeting, one citizen called the White House a "criminal treasonous communist government," urging the county to reject the money altogether. Others echoed that sentiment, saying they didn't want the federal government's help.
"We don't want to be bought by the federal government, thank you very much," a resident said. "We'd like the federal government to stay out of Kerr County and their money."
There seem to be many ways the tragic loss of life could have been reduced. We need to find out what could have been done to reduce the loss, and who is responsible for it.

The area was warned of the floods. It all just happened so fast.
Quit being so myopic. Reducing the occurrence of deaths when the inevitable flood happen is part of that infrastructure.Let us know what “flood prevention infrastructure” can prevent a river from raising 24’ in an hour.
