MAGA politicians chose to do without flood warning alarm rather than to accept money that would make Biden look good.

No. The need was there and recognized. The commissioners capitulated to the MAGA cult members who were adamantly opposed to what they called government interference. You didn't read the link? Nobody ever said the flood could have been prevented. Are you stupid or something?
Show me where or Hindi the need was there and recognized

The history of floods on the Guadalupe showed the need, and the fact that they were discussing spending their stimulus money on flood sensors and alarms shows the need was recognized.

The people that live there know the floods and know what they need

Link to deaths they knew would happen…
The history of floods in that area and the accompanying deaths have been well known for a long time.

Progs living in New Orleans trashed the city and became purely primal when Katrina hit. The Superdome looked like a ghetto. The aftermath was sanitized. People outside the city took New Orleans residents into their homes who ended up screwing them over. Hundreds of billions of dollars spent on a city where most of it should be under water. Not waiting for a storm to come and leave mind you where the waters recede. There were billions of dollars given to the city for levees and equipment over the years we still do not know where it went. Like Epstein and Hunter and Joe and anything else, swept under the rug. Tell us about Las Vegas.

I suppose it is floods caused by hurricanes. Its unlikely anyone alive right now will see a flood that size in the Guadalupe River.

There seems to be an endless footprint with disasters. When areas are hit, how do the residents handle it. Do they start rebuilding or do they make it worse? As an example. There were people and elderly people attacked by younger African Americans in New Orleans. I propose a TV show where we put your relatives in that situation. The ratings will go through the roof. And there were African Americans of integrity who defended other people also.

what a silly thing to say.

Don't listen to the liberals. Camp Mystic will be here as long as there is a Texas flag. Abbott said today they will search as long as they need to.

That Camp Mystic stays does not excuse the mistakes or lessens the tragedy.

In 2021, the Biden administration awarded Kerr County $10.2 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, which could have been used for flood prevention infrastructure. But commissioners, facing political pressure from conservative residents, opted not to pursue a warning system.

At an April 2022 meeting, one citizen called the White House a "criminal treasonous communist government," urging the county to reject the money altogether. Others echoed that sentiment, saying they didn't want the federal government's help.

"We don't want to be bought by the federal government, thank you very much," a resident said. "We'd like the federal government to stay out of Kerr County and their money."

There seem to be many ways the tragic loss of life could have been reduced. We need to find out what could have been done to reduce the loss, and who is responsible for it.

The bottom line is if you know a particular area floods a lot then stay away from that particular area when heavy rains are expected and don't build, live, or have businesses there. This is not rocket science. The answer isn't to spend billions of dollars trying to fight a river which can rise up 26 feet in 45 minutes because not even billions of dollars are going to save you from that.

Well, you can say that to the fed, state, and county, and they will ignore you.

BULLDOG

Makes you wonder how mankind has lasted so long without flood defences and forecasts

I must be one of the lucky few. When it rains heavy, I know lots of water could be present so I stay away from flood zones and bridges. When it's hot, I keep out of the heat and cool my wrists under a running tap. I have other tips on different weather conditions too. I was actually thinking of writing a book to aid Lefties and Alarmists.

Don’t you think the people that live there know the area and its history and needs better then you?
