I disagree with your characterization of Israel. I do agree with you that no foreign country should be allowed to control the U.S government whether Canada, U.K or Israel.
Is Israel exercizing influence? I suspect yes, which will damage the relationship long term if true and/or excessive. However, are we going to look away from the $10M given to the Clinton Foundation from Ukraine? A nation that has an extremely low charitable donation record suddenly loves Clinton so much? How about the U.K donations to her Foundation?
Nations influence each other all the time, they push their interests. Bibi is not very popular in Israel for a reason, he had lost faith from the people before Oct 7th. Did Trump get backed into a corner in Iran? I do not know. I do know that at any moment Trump could call the entire campaign off, no one is preventing him from this so there must be enough intel and support within his administration.
All this said, Israel is an ally. Israel is a democracy. Their citizens are free. They are closer to traditional American and European life than any other country in the region. Israel is not stoning women to death, they are not overbearing of their youth. They are free to live as they choose, to make mistakes in life, to drink and enjoy life.
No other country in the region is so permissive.
CHina is by far the greater threat even if you wrongly deem Israel one. They cannot even be spoken of in the same breath. At least we know Iran is evil at 47 years, the funding of terrorism, the same way China funds poisons and control of U.S politicians. It is not a war against an honourable Western democracy that defends citizens rights. From what I can tell there have not been any tears shed in Iran at the loss of their former leader, is that not extremely telling of the terror he unleashed?
