Chinese Maker of Ivanka Trump’s Shoes Looks for Cheaper Labor
The Chinese factory workers who make shoes for Ivanka Trump and other designers gather at 7:40 every morning to sing songs.

Sometimes, they extol worker solidarity. Usually, they trumpet ties between China and Africa, the theme of their employer’s corporate anthem.

That’s no accident. With many workers here complaining about excessive hours and seeking higher pay, the factory owner wants to send their jobs to Ethiopia.

/----/ Hey Libtard. what is Ivanka supposed to do, make the shoes herself? What is your solution?
Shoe manufacturing may come back to America, but the jobs may not
The number of sneakers that are imported is staggering. Approximately 99% of all shoes sold in America are made elsewhere due to the labor-intensive process that shoe-making requires and the high cost of labor in the US.

However, the landscape for the apparel industry has changed, and the influence of fast fashion lingers. Brands like Nike and Adidas are looking for ways to bring their products to market faster than manufacturing in Asia allows.

The solution, then, is to reshore American manufacturing, but find somewhere to cut costs. Since the largest cost is labor, cutting down the workforce significantly would be prudent. Enter automation. Essentially, shoe manufacturing is already on its way back to the US, but the manufacturing jobs may not come along with it.

READ YOUR ARTICLE, Jackass! This is a Chinese company CONSIDERING moving labor to Ethiopia. Ivanka has nothing to do with it.

Lessee:
  • We raise China's economy up to where they now make enough for China to look elsewhere for cheaper labor and--- YOU WHINE.
  • We give jobs to many poor people and--- YOU WHINE.
  • Ivanka tries to offer a designer shoe at an affordable price and--- YOU WHINE.
  • If those shoes were 100% made in the USA that only the rich could afford them--- YOU'D WHINE.
  • When the USA brought Africans here to work--- YOU WHINED.
  • Now that we're creating jobs for them over there--- YOU STILL WHINE.

You do know all of the rumps manufacturing is in china.

Of course it is. Almost all of the textile work done for the world is in China. There are a few small factories here in the States but they are booked up for decades, trying to get them to do your work is impossible thanks to prior commitments. And the fact that all of our other factories have closed down over the decades because chinese labor is so cheap. Thanks for pointing out how the Dems and walmart have chased our manufacturing base away.

... the Courtenay mill in Newry, South Carolina serves as an architectural and historical marvel that epitomizes the southern textile mill.
