Amazingly enough churches do school supply drives to alleviate that. Carson City has had those drives for decades.

when you were in school, did your teachers supply paper, pencils, crayons, etc for you?

didn't happen in my neighborhood.

we had to supply all that stuff ourselves.

School supplied 4 walls, a teacher, and a noon meal.

and transportation if you lived more than a mile away.
