MAGA is one thing. And the DHTS (die hard Trump supporters) are another.

MAGA voted for massive reductions in spending. End the wars. DOGE. Stopping the democrats agenda. Releasing the Epstein list/files/evidence. We voted for a restoration of our constitutional republic. Abolishing the Dept. of Ed. Draining the swamp. Securing the borders.
DHTS voted for revenge on the democrats. And that's pretty much it. Nobody But Trump.

What we've gotten is more socialism. A never ending war in Ukraine. College tuition funding. Increased spending. 100% funding of the Dept. of Ed. & funding universities. Foreign aid to just about any country with it's hand out. H1-B visa's, by the hundreds of thousands, because Trump says the USA doesn't have talent.


Imagine Trump campaign on what he's done so far:
Spend more than Biden
Attack fiscal conservatives
Keep funding Ukraine and Israel
Continue with foreign aid to every country with their hand out
Get rid of Elon when Elon opposed the MASSIVE BBB
Take ownership of private companies.
Not go after Fauci
Not release the Epstein evidence

The tax cuts stayed in place throughout Biden's term. But Trumps spending $8 trillion, Plus Biden's $7 trillion, and now Trump increasing Biden level spending has reduced the value of the US dollar, what will override any good that comes with tax cuts. We're still taxed too much. And when you devalue the currency, with all that spending, it's an added tax that you can't see. Reduced taxes 5%, but devalue the currency 33+%. (Since Jan. of 2017).....
This is what RINOs like Trump and democrats like Biden do.

Really there aren't many Republicans I could say I would honestly want to vote for because most of them don't have that much integrity. Would I ever vote Democrat? Absolutely not. I don't like this "If you don't vote for my candidate, you must be a liberal!" kind of mentality.

While we can argue his merits or lack of them.....his following pretty much made sure he was in for 24. I was hoping for better. Truth is.....we fielded a weak group relative to the power Trump seemed to wield.

Hoping 28 will have a little more variety. I am very concerned that Trumps influence will make Vance an automatic.

Don't get me wrong, I live Vance. But I don't want some butthead up at the front calling everyone who opposes him evil.

What's the difference? What Trump/Vance are pushing isn't fiscal or constitutional conservatism. They're not restoring our constitutional republic. You know, things that made this country great to start with.

There's always been an uncomfortable competition, within the Republican party, between limited-government, constitutional conservatives - and cultural conservatives. And their goals are largely opposed. The cultural conservatives control things now.

I don't really follow DeSantis that much. I have a neutral opinion on him. One thing I strongly reject from him and any "Republican" is this love of Israel. America First means America First. We need leaders who truly put our country first, and not other countries.

However I will lean more towards the idea of constitutional Conservatism over cultural Conservatism. Perhaps DeSantis is more like that than I thought. Like I said, I don't really keep up with the news about him so there is probably a lot I am missing.

Really, I do like what he has done with Florida. He fought against the woke BS and did it quietly without it exploding into a national drama. He's also far younger than Trump, and is mentally sane. Who knows how he would have been as President, but perhaps he would have been more stable than Trump was. The problem with Trump is his constant scandals, everyone talks about him, and anything associated with him is either to be loved or absolutely hated with no inbetween.

There's definitely a group of influencers and politicians who are in various degrees of giving up on him, and it's for the reasons you mention. If enough influencers jump on board (and they definitely do influence), this will get more interesting.

They can see that he latched on to MAGA purely for his own use. But there may be enough energy to keep MAGA going without him if they get their way.

The mindless rubes who are constantly having to spin and make excuses for him? They'll take longer, as we'll see on this board.

Are you willing to build a major American base in the Middle East. Or is our support for Israel who buys weapons from America creates jobs and taxes for us, and allows us not to put our people in harms way. Would you be happy if Iran controlled the worlds oil supply
