Yes! One of my favorites.
My sister-in-law is from Bamberg. Her parents ran a small grocery store that included a bakery.
She learned how to make this cake from her mother, and makes it every Christmas since the 1990s here.
Essentially Black Forest Cake... but the cherries are the star.

You should have hers.
She makes it from scratch. All of it, including the crème icing... which is so frigging good.
She even creates a cocoa dust with shaved cinnamon on top.
