Covid was a cold. It was a coronavirus which people have been getting for centuries. Interesting that at the same moment the Covid death toll rose to huge proportions (even a man who ran into a tree and died had his death attributed to Covid), the death toll for the annual flu dropped to its lowest in history. Who knew that Covid would be the cure for the flu?

You know, you wingnuts need to get your story straight. Either Covid was an overhyped cold or it was a devious Chinese bioweapon meant to destroy Trump.

The reason why flu deaths dropped in 2020 was because the precautions people were taking to prevent Covid also reduced the spread of the flu. People weren't going into the office sick like they did pre-Covid. People who normally passed on the free flue shot got them that year.

Anyway, decimating small, independent businesses and telling family members that they weren't allowed to say goodbye to their dying relatives was a huge and unnecessary power grab.

Or one that was necessary. The US had the highest Covid death toll because we didn't enforce quarantine the way other countries did.

But none of that negates the fact that Lightfoot was a horrible Mayor and a horrible human being.

Honestly, she was no better or worse than Emmanuel or Daley, both of whom had the good sense to get off the stage before they were thrown off.
