Um, first, you are taking that claim about journalists out of context. She only limited interviews to reporters of color on one occasion, her first anniversary in office. Why? Because the Chicago Press corps is disproportionately white (compared to a city that is only 35% white now.)

Secondly, blaming her for the spike in Crime is a bit disingenous, don't you think. You guys go on all day about how nothing that happened in 2020 was Trump's fault because Covid was such a unique event (even though a lot of those problems were due to his inaction or incompetence.)

Crime spiked because of Covid and the resulting recession and civil unrest that followed it. It spiked all over the country, not just Chicago.

That said, I have no problem with her being voted out, because her leadership style was poor. She had a bad relationship with the city council, the CPD and the CTU, all of whom supported other candidates in the primary. That the city rejected the Machine's handpicked replacement, Paul Vallas, is telling in itself.
