Scott Pruitt's EPA has justified his unprecedented spending in security detail by saying he has received an "unprecedented number of death threats.

But when forced to submit proof of those threats (FOIA request), the agency could not come up with one single record (emails, voice mails, etc.) of the alleged threats.

Pruitt's minions tried to count a message calling Pruitt an "ignorant fuck" as a death threat (It's not).

Scott Pruitt Death Threats - Did EPA Spokesman Make Them Up?

That sort of thing --misrepresentation of material facts -- has become par for the course in the Trump Administration.....

It's all about tone at the top.
With Trump at the top, the tone is "say whatever the hell you think will help your case at the moment, regardless of its verity, and deal with the fallout when it comes."
