Look, every male on this forum knows when a woman with red hair and crazy eyes gets behind the wheel nothing good is going to happen

As we see here, ICE has no jurisdiction over American citizens. That ICE officer had no right to try opening that car door. The Supreme Court ruled in Tennessee v Garner that a cop cannot shoot a fleeing felon unless that person poses a threat to the community. So a cop cannot just shoot people if they are attempting to flee. Furthermore, this woman was not committing a crime. So what we must do as citizens is t stop looking for excuses that keep enabling cops to violate our civil liberties and organize ourselves in a manner that creates police reform. These guys have been sworn to uphold the law. Because of this, they should be held to the highest legal standards. This cop needs to be put in prison for at least homicide, and he should have to pay the family of the person he shot damages for wrongful death. If we start penalizing these guys with the harshest penalties allowed by law, including the death penalty, this kind of behavior will stop.

What powers do ICE agents have to arrest people?

ICE sees its mission as encompassing both public safety and national security. However, its powers are different than the average local police department in the US.

Its agents have the power to stop, detain and arrest people they suspect of being in the US illegally. They can detain US citizens in limited circumstances, such as if a person interferes with an arrest, assaults an officer, or ICE suspect the person of being in the US illegally.

Despite this, according to news organisation ProPublica, there were more than 170 incidents during the first nine months of Trump's presidency in which federal agents held US citizens against their will.

These cases included Americans they had suspected of being undocumented immigrants.

So like I said ICE had no right to try taking that woman out of her car. There was no arrest taking place, there was no assault on an officer, and the lady was a U.S. citizen.

They have the authority to arrest you for obstruction.

The security cam from the house across the road makes me think that ICE was more clearly okay to shoot her. Looked like she clipped the firing officer's hip to me.

All reports are, that she had just dropper her child off, at school. Show us your link that says different.
Which makes what Renee Good did even worse. Her first priority in life should have been to her children. As a mother she had no business driving to an ICE operation and impeding them and risking arrest, significant injury or tragically - death. How was she going to pick her child off from school if she was arrested? Now her child will never see her again and for what? So she could get in the way of ICE agents trying to find violent illegal immigrants.

Apparently, her husband, wife, whatever, talked her into going after dropping off the kid, according to that person screaming on the side of the street, after she lead her to a situation, resulting in her death at the hands of an out of control ICE goon. Plenty of blame/responsibility for wrong action to go around on all sides. it always amazes me what people get themselves into, not thinking, evaluating or planning actions. I guess I was just taught to plan for actions on contact, envisioning all possible scenarios before going in, knowing what move to make, at points along the way. Still doing, to this day, every time going up or down a mountain, white water stream or simply out in the city at night. You would think everybody did, but maybe they are just shitty at it. On more than one occasion, on rivers or coming down a mountain, I have chosen to divert or not go rather than proceeding for on the first path ahead. She and the officer, obviously did not think like that.
