ONLY herd immunity has ever ended any entrenched epidemic.
Lock downs can not, have not, and ever will end any epidemic.
By stretching the time of any epidemic, locks downs always result in larger numbers of deaths.

Here are the experts.
Listen to them.
Did these so-called scientist comment on the Salk Vaccine for Polio....or was the herd mentality....

We're on the same trajectory on another thread, showing that low oxygen genes link to COVID-19. In other words, masks may be triggering genes that assist the virus.

Lockdowns can work, however they only have a real chance if the disease is so virulent that there are minimal asymptomatic or mild symptom cases.

You would have to add in a real serious mortality rate, i.e. 5%-10% to really force people to isolate, and the disease needs to be only contagious when a person is truly symptomatic.

In that scenario a lockdown and isolation of anyone in contact with known cases is the only way to stop a true decimation of the population.

Coronavirus Cases: 7,991,998
Deaths: 219,695

How many has the lockdown killed?
219,000 deaths? lol, try more like 2019.
Best damn post on this thread, gives standing ovation. :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

the brainwashed sheep in America needs to stop listening and hanging on to every word the idiot box in the living room tells them And listen to the whistle blowing doctors who have risked their careers and livlihoods exposing this hoax that the numbers are inflated by the cdc.

Intentional ignorance also help nothing. Why for heavens sake fight so many US-Americans for a deadly virus? If you would be a soldier in a war between nations, then it could happen that you would be shot down now from your own comrades because of collaboration with the enemy.
Intentional ignorance would be the brainwashed sheep who keep listening the the propaganda from the idiot box in the living room what they tell the instead of patriotic doctors voices brave enough to speak out who voices are not controlled by the corporate controlled media.:laughing0301::auiqs.jpg:

The hope has been to slow down the spread until the most vulnerable are able to be vaccinated.

Fortunately in some countries a vaccine is available:

Vaccine are good, but still also kill some amount of people.
And a vaccine is still too late for the 230,000 who have already died in the US, so locks downs and vaccines can't be the strategy we use in the future.
Instead we should have done something quicker.
Either a full quaranting with contract tracing, or accelerated herd immunity.

In a year's time, when we hopefully know what worked and what didn't work, those politicians who required us to suffer through measures that were useless or even harmful should have the decency to apologize AND resign.

(I hear the TV industry is going to award an Emmy to Governor Cuomo. I hope that they will wait for all the facts are in about the virus before awarding his performances.)

The way we’re treading, they will be dead before the vaccine.

You are ignorant.
All existing epidemics has always been ended by herd immunity, and Fauci estimated wrong when he claimed covid-19 would kill 4 million.
The reasons for his mistake was that he did not know that 90% of those infected were asymptomatic, so therefore were not getting tested or recorded. He also did not realize most of the deaths are from those over 70, and that those under 30 are 40 times less likely to die. Instead of his estimate of 70% needing to recover, it is more like 7%, because most people turned out to be inherently immune already.

Let people decide. Encourage people not to patronize businesses if they don't want the virus. Nobody looses.

All?

What about Polio?
The last polio epidemic started in 1948 and was essentially over by the time the Salk vaccine came out in 1957.
And besides, vaccines also depend upon herd immunity because not everyone can be vaccinated.
