Merck’s pill, molnupiravir (may be mutagenic in mammalian cells) works on a viral enzyme, RdRp. Pfizer’s pill PF-07321332 also works on a viral enzyme, admittedly with potent pharmaceutical dynamics, sporting a fluoracetyl moiety in synchrony with a nitrile warhead.
