yup…And his welfare and food stamps.
If all you do is look at a statue, and show no interest in the history, all you did was look.
Statues should be useful to learning history. We have only one political party trying to wipe out history and that party is the Democrats.
Imagine if you will if we republicans were melting down the statue of Arthur Ashe? His statue still stands on Monument ave and over what? Playing an insignificant game.
yup…
Lots of people are saying it’s so.Neither of you toads have any evidence of that nonsense
Lots of people are saying it’s so.
Based on what, do you deny states a right to secede? Why did you ignore the 630,000 dead in the War of 1861?The whole point of statues is as an emotional attachment to something that people believe in. A statue of Robert E. Lee isn't because people care less about Robert E. Lee, it's because they support the Confederacy. I mean, the Confederacy that killed 140,000 people.
Statues COMMEMORATE, why would you commemorate the traitors?
Does anyone commemorate those who flew planes into buildings on 9/11? Do people have statues of Hitler and Stalin in their town? No? They have people they look up to. Should people be looking up to traitors?

Abe waged a war on Americans to reverse their course that is called secession. IT is core to the entire event.Doesn't matter whether you want to talk about a right to secede or not. The simple fact is that 140,000 US military personnel died at the hands of the Confederacy. Should people really be celebrating this?
And I'm not ignore 630,000 deaths at all.

Rulings are not retroactive. And that is what you are toting here.In Texas v. White (1869), the Supreme Court ruled unilateral secession unconstitutional,
Is a statue "history"?
Nope. There's so much history that doesn't get put into statue form, all they've done is taken a statue down. People still know who Robert E. Lee is... even if one of his statues has gone.
That’s hilarious. If it were a RIGHT, there would not have been a war. And why did they want to secede ? Because they wanted to retain slavery and still have an entire economy based upon it. You’re saying now which is pretty much what many in the south still want, is white supremacy.Based on what, do you deny states a right to secede? Why did you ignore the 630,000 dead in the War of 1861?

We never should sweep history under the rug.
It wasn't retroactive, as the right to secession never existed.Rulings are not retroactive. And that is what you are toting here.
TEXAS v White was a ruling over bonds.
Based on what did the Confederacy deny a person's right to be free?Based on what, do you deny states a right to secede? Why did you ignore the 630,000 dead in the War of 1861?
He was never a war hero.
Like preserving the memorial to Emmett Till?
Good.First, i'm against book burning.
See above. But then, books are not on public display, they aren't forced upon the public conscience.
As a settled, accepted fact of Constitutional law states have no right to secede (White v. Texas (1869)).Based on what, do you deny states a right to secede? Why did you ignore the 630,000 dead in the War of 1861?
