Levitating trains in Japan?

374 mph? That's pretty fuckin' fast.

Train travel isn't something I've done. I've traveled by ship, car and plane. A coast to coast photo trip by train would be a blast.

Not at 374mph, though...

It seems China and Japan have built the new generation of high speed rail.

Canada has some truly awesome train trips. You can party your ass off while relaxing on the train watching some of the best undisturbed nature left in the world. Definitely worth the trip.

Shhhhh.
United States wants to stay in the 19th century when it comes to trains.

Too expensive. We like wasting our money on wars . Too much responsibility being the leader of the world ...
..let's let China do it.......

Trains are an outdated mode of transportation due to the vastness of the total area of the US. They are somewhat convenient in states/cities/nations with crowded populations and small land areas to traverse. In the US the majority of individuals use personal transportation vehicles because of the modern interstate highway systems. If they are in need of speed......air travel has made the train outdated for personal travel....the only reason trains are still on tracks across the US is because of their cost efficiency in cargo transportation.

Reality: Anytime an industry has to be subsided by the taxpayer while expecting the government bureaucracy to manage it correctly (Am Track...etc.).......you get what you pay for. Anytime the government attempts to manage anything it turns into a boondoggle.

As far as more money being spent on wars than anything else.........that's simply a false premise. The US TAXPAYER spends far more money on the WAR ON POVERTY with virtually no movement of the poverty index since this supposed war on poverty was declared in the 60s.....while being labeled as the "The Great Society Programs" by the politicians who have used it to purchase votes.

A few documented facts to consider: Since the administration of LBJ, who formally announced the great societies war on poverty.........the US TAXPAYERS have spent over 22 Trillion dollars on anti-poverty programs (which does not include Social Security programs).........this amount is 3x more government waste than the cost of all US war engagements since the revolutionary war. The War on Poverty After 50 Years

With virtually no movement toward ending poverty as defined in the US according to the US CENSUS BUREAU.....the only statistic to move would be the fact that the US CITIZENS have became less self sufficient over this same time period. The US politicians have accomplished nothing with this supposed war on poverty but moving more and more people to government dependency (almost 50% of the US population now receives some type of government aid in one form or another).

The United States Government does not have a tax problem.........as our government agencies combined, local, city state and federal, collect almost 8 trillion dollars annually.......yet they continually spend more than collected. The People of the US have a management problem. If the government was a private sector corporation ..........it would have went belly up decades ago.

And to my point war is an outdated way of settling disputes.

Am I right or am I right or am I right or am I right or am I right ? I know I'm right.

Once again?

So........you stated, "we like spending money on wars".......but that's not your point? In essence you suggested that the money spent defending the rights and freedoms of our citizenship (sometimes via the necessity of war) our tax money could be better spent on our rail transportation instead of making PEACE possible for our US citizenship?

Are you right? Ask Churchill about Chamberlain attempting to appease Hitler in the 30s......the money Chamberlain saved on war he spent on English infrastructure........that was shortly blown to hell by the bombs of Hitler.

Ask FDR about the money he saved by attempting to make peace with JAPAN via negotiations. It cost the US the majority of its ability to defend the west coast of the US......the only thing that stopped Japan from attacking our west coast? A heavily armed US CITIZENSHIP protected via the 2nd amendment.

Ask Nixon how the Paris peace talks with North Viet Nam ended when the US was forced to leave its responsibilities to its allies in South East Asia. How many innocent south east Asian citizens were killed by the communist aggression of Pol Pot in Cambodia alone.....over 1,000,000 people were executed after the US was ordered to pull out by the US politicians.

Ask Mr. Reagan how he put an end to the former USSR's world aggression. Was it though peaceful negotiations or was it

SI vis pacem, para bellum?

Even the Christ stated it clearly, "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace." -- Luke 11:21 The Christ also ordered his apostles to arm themselves and prepare themselves for the evil they could possibly encounter on their mission to spread the gospel outside their home territories.....even to the point of selling their clothing to purchase weapons is necessary (Luke 22:35-36)

The wisest man in the Old Testament said it best, "To everything there is a season, a time to every purpose under heaven; A time be born, a time to die, a time to plant, a time to pluck up that which is planted; A TIME TO KILL, and a time to heal; a time to break down, a time to build up.................A TIME TO LOVE, A TIME TO HATE, A TIME OF WAR AND A TIME OF PEACE-- Eccl. 3:1-3,8

Eight years of war with Afghanistan brought the USSR to its knees. The US just reaped the benefits.
as you should know, there was "developed Socialism" in the USSR, but not Communism.
The reason for the crisis in the USSR is the decline of Ideology in the 70s, when Nobody believed in "building Communism".
--------
if people believe in Ideology, then they have a goal and are ready to work, so the Soviets rebuilt Industry after the Second World War very quickly. But these were the 50s and 60s ...
-------
therefore, it is especially funny to hear that Reagan defeated the USSR.
=================

Further..
another myth:
Afghanistan undermined the economy of the USSR.
But, in reality, The economy of the USSR was growing until 1991, look at the data.
----------
another myth:
the Americans forced the Saudis to sell a lot of oil and the oil price fell, so the Soviets could not get income.
but in reality the Soviets sold oil mainly within the Eastern Bloc at fixed prices in so-called "foreign exchange rubles"
---------
another very funny myth
The Soviets bought bread from Americans and Canadians ..
but in fact this is not a conversation about bread, but about a grain of wheat.
The Soviets sold second-grade grain within the Eastern Bloc or transferred to Africa "to support the building of communism."
data about these sales are not included in the statistics.
Then the Soviets bought premium grain on the commodity exchange. This data is taken into account.
it looked like "Soviets buy bread"

the Americans can also build a hydrofoil. it is very convenient as there are 2 oceans.

It's going to get faster too. We are really shooting ourselves in the foot by not investing more into stuff like this.
For built up and over built cities you are going to have to condemn neighborhoods.
