Letitia James indicted

Hi, Bub. There is not a single statement about her being not guilty.

Ok bullshit peddler, time to read togather Page 12-13:

The District’s U.S. Attorney, Erik Siebert, had reportedly told senior DOJ officials that investigators found insufficient evidence to bring charges against AG James. Per reporting of a non-prosecution memo summarizing the state of the case presented to Mr. Siebert in September, the career prosecutors who investigated AG James for possible mortgage violations even “found evidence that would appear to undercut some of the allegations in the indictment of James . . .including the degree to which James personally profited from her purchase of the property.” Further, after the months-long investigation, prosecutors “concluded that any financial benefit derived from her allegedly falsified mortgage would have amounted to approximately $800 in the year she purchased the home, sources said,” and “prosecutors found no record of James collectingrent from her niece beyond $1,350 that James reported on her 2020 tax return, which was said tocover the cost of utilities, according to sources familiar with the investigation.” Id. Prosecutors“also expressed concern that the case could likely not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt because federal mortgage guidelines for a second home do not clearly define occupancy, a keyelement of the case, according to sources.” Id. The investigation of AG James in Virginia shouldhave ended there.

B. With No Evidence of a Crime, the President and DOJ Scramble for AG James ’Resignation or Indictment.

What the hell do you think - "no evidence of crime" means ?

When I read that, I see yet another clear example of James's failure to deny committing the crime.

And they say that she only gained about $800 in the first year when she did it. And she reported rent payments from the property on federal forms. Hmmm, sounds like evidence and an admission of guilt. :)

What you don't seem to understand is that to prove this crime prosecutor would have to prove that not only something wrong was done, but done with criminal intent. Meaning that they would have to prove that James knowingly violated law over what ammounted to pocket change.

And then you skip right over that there is no way to prove it because, as already explained to you:

Prosecutors “also expressed concern that the case could likely not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt because federal mortgage guidelines for a second home do not clearly define occupancy, a keyelement of the case"

James on the other hand has damn strong case that her prosecution was illicit because it is done at hamfisted direction of Trump, who doesn't give any shit about anything except getting back at someone who dared to successfully prosecute his ass.

Trump's own appointed career prosecutor's team declined prosecution, because they saw no case against James that could be proven in a court of law beyond reasonable doubt. So this is not about justice, this is about Trump's corrupt wants and unprincipled partisan idiots like you supporting this degenerate abuse of power.

Don't be ridiculous. I'm pretty sure that AG James knowingly executed the fraudulent documents, and as AG she was well aware of the laws.

18 USC 1344
Whoever knowingly executes, or attempts to execute, a scheme or artifice—
(1) to defraud a financial institution; or
(2) to obtain any of the moneys, funds, credits, assets, securities, or other property owned by, or under the custody or control of, a financial institution, by means of false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises;

shall be fined not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both.

18 USC 1016
Whoever knowingly makes any false statement or report, or willfully overvalues any land, property or security, for the purpose of influencing in any way the action of the Federal Housing Administration, the Farm Credit Administration,...
upon any application, advance, discount, purchase, purchase agreement, repurchase agreement, commitment, loan, or insurance agreement or application for insurance or a guarantee, or any change or extension of any of the same, by renewal, deferment of action or otherwise, or the acceptance, release, or substitution of security therefor, shall be fined not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both.

Great, then you belive there is a strong case against James and would love an opportunity to show me up by taking a bet on that:

James is convicted on these charges - I stop posting for a month here (effective right after guilty verdict)

James is not convicted on these charges - you stop posting here for month (effective right after dismissal or not-guilty verdict)

Thats what I thought Jimbo

Now put that "pretty sure" between your legs and run along.

Her trial will be held in a City full of morally corrupt potential jurors, and it will only take one....

Dumbass there are Democrats and Republicans in any city, on any jury, in any part of the country.

What there is here is LACK OF SERIOUS EVIDENCE for jury to find that James has commited a crime beyond reasonable doubt and tons of evidence that she is being prosecuted because Trump badly wants her prosecuted.

If you had any real conviction in the opposite being true you would take the bet instead of posting your half-baked excuses.

The Retribution: Letitia James Edition

A quick update on the big coverup in the Letitia James case that Morning Memo featured last week:

In a new filing Monday, James lawyers asked the judge in the case to order the Justice Department to produce the documents reportedly turned over to prosecutors by former FHFA acting Inspector General Joe Allen.

More intriguingly, James’ attorneys say the discovery they’ve already received from the government contains a gap in the Bates-stamp sequence that suggests “over 100 pages of discovery likely turned over by the former FHFA Acting Inspector General has not been produced.”

Allen and about a dozen officials within Fannie Mae’s ethics and internal investigations unit were fired after looking into complaints about FHFA director Bill Pulte’s access to the personal mortgage records of prominent Democrats, including James. Before he was ousted, Allen turned over to U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan’s office some of what he had unearthed that, according to news reports, he felt legally obligated to provide, suggesting it may have been exculpatory evidence favorable to James.

It’s not clear what makes James’ attorney suspect that the gap represents the IG’s documents, but they are requesting a court order for Halligan to provide them with a specific set of documents that have a common Bates stamp signature.

Since Lindsey's incompetence has already become an issue in the Comey case perhaps we should give her the benefit of the doubt and say this too is just a **** up.

It's pretty obvious now that Bill Pulte has been playing dirty and abusing his office by going through private mortgage data to fish out something useful to Trump.

Only a matter of time before he is impeached or removed, because guess what, Congressional Republicans also have mortgages and they damn well know they that if they stand by this corruption now, then they will have same coming for them as soon as Democrats get in power.

You're saying trump will be impeached in 2027? I think D's learned their lesson that impeachment is no longer a viable check on abuses of power by the prez. Acquittal in the Senate is a foregone conclusion.

??? my post was about Bill Pulte obviously.

For Trump this thing is but a drop-in-the-ocean for all the things he WAS impeached for, is impeachable for, yet won't be removed for so long as Republicans don't feel like it.

Bigger fish to fry.

You think Congressmen have bigger fish to fry then covering their own ass from partisan prosecution wars?

Think again.

And even for America at large, this is the sort of Banana Republic style perversion of justice system that hits at the very foundations, this is a big fish for us.

When the cases against James, Cook, and Schiff blow up in the regime's face you think it's going to continue to tell Pulte to, perhaps illegally, search records to make more unfounded accusations against Don's enemies?

Think again.

Even if thrown out, it still caused all those people a lot of headache and financial damage, will still cause others to think twice before doing something Trump won't like.

How is that not mission accomplished?

Unless there are consequences for people involved in these abusive prosecutions Trump's admin will keep doing it.

I think the fallout from these kinds of vindictive investigations/prosecutions, once exposed by the courts, will be sufficient to dissuade the regime from doing more of them. So we just disagree.

Lib loons now fantasizing they can impeach Trump after he is out of office. TDS is permanent and it’s scary what they may latch onto next after he’s out of office.

PS: Very stupid challenge

Because you would get your ass handed to you, just like Trump and his corrupt, incompetent DOJ.
