Contrary to what trump and conservatives want, all those cruise ships that fly under foreign flags to avoid American laws, regulations and accountability should go to the nation's they are registered in as a business.

They have no business getting one penny of our tax dollars.

When people try to hold cruise lines accountable for their actions the cruise lines claim they aren't a US company and our laws don't apply to them.

They want all the benefits without any of the risks. They made the choice to take that risk. It's not up to us taxpayers to pay for their very bad choice.

Let them die: Foreign-flagged cruise lines have no business asking for a U.S. bailout now

That holds true for a lot of those businesses at the moment who moved off shore to avoid taxes.

My buddy went on a cruise last year, he said the cruise ships no longer hire Americans to work on the ship.

All those countries where Mnucin hides his dough.

Yep.
They rely on all those poor people who happen to live on beautiful tropical islands, the cruise ships main destinations.
Have a buddy in Jamaica,he works as a bartender at our favorite resort and his wife works on a cruise ship.

But then you can say the same about most ocean going ships.
The Capitan might be a white guy from the west but the crew is Phillipino or from some other island nation.

I so can't agree with you more.

If you don't contribute, you don't have any right to come to us with your hands out.

The workers will be compensated through unemployment. The latest bill for this has up to 4 months of full pay for those who lost their jobs because of this.

They will find another job if the company they work for folds.

Those companies went off shore to avoid accountability.

When someone tries to hold them accountable they claim they aren't US companies so our laws don't apply.

So when it's convenient for them they aren't US companies. When it's not convenient, they come running to us to bail their butts out.

Not this time.

So much for you supporting small government and holding people accountable for their actions. I guess that's only for people who aren't rich. Right?

If that’s true, then I agree, let them get aid from other countries.

Problem is, you have zero credibility.

It's a fact that most cruise ships are registered under foreign flags.

So fuck 'em.

That's because the US has archaic maritime laws. The Jones Act is one of them.

We should also include foreign owned US companies. There's shitload of those....

Here's just a few....

Only ONE cruise ship line is registered in the US:

I'm kind of curious if Trump also has citizenship from one or several of those Caribbean countries, a lot of rich people do.

Not that it would be illegal for him to have it, just that I would find it funny and ironic.

You mean a "shithole country"? Yeah that would be rich.

So....... what's behind this idea? Are Rump and McConartist threatening to dump taxpayer money into foreign ships? Is this part of what's holding up the relief bill?
