Lawsuit: Michigan teacher tried to force Palestinian American student to stand for Pledge

Yikes. All you do is spew invective.

This child does not understand the difference between the oppression his people inflict upon the innocent there and the freedoms we have here.

You know what, Joe, book a flight to Gaza. Go live there. Go live among the people you praise and defend. Go on, git, you Greta Thunberg wannabe.

Why would I want to do that?

I have a very good life here that I spent 50 years working on. (An alien concept to you, Twinkie).

I am sure Hamas is terrible as a form of government. BUt they came to power because Fatah was too busy sucking up to the Zionists and stealing Western Aid.

Precisely, so this child should appreciate his freedom enough not to be such a spoiled brat, stand and pledge!

Pledge to the people who are helping murder his relatives? That sounds kind of sick.

It's like asking a Jew to pledge his loyalty to Adolf Hitler.

Let's try something out. The teacher is a crazed Leftist with a pride flag in her room, and wants her students to stand and pledge to the pride flag.

Student refuses.

Then the teacher admonishes him and "forces" him to stand and recite the pledge. And tells him if you don't like it, maybe you should XYZ.

You would hate that, right? I would and I do.

I also do not endorse teachers forcing kids to do things OUTSIDE OF ACADEMICS, which is both scenarios.

I note that you did not answer my question. You said the teacher used her power to "punish or destroy" the child.

And I asked what the punishment was, or how the destruction was done.

Admit it. There was no force. THe teacher expressed his opinion in response to the kids actions and that was the end of it.

Or it should have been.

It is the TEACHER that is being punished for his speech, not the child.

Ah, but you wilfully twist it.

His people espouse those very same Nazi ideologies. But it's not like you know your history, Joe. No point in going on about it any further.

This isnt the only kid who doesnt stand for the pledge unfortunately. Teachers dont speak up because they can quickly be fired over this. So they dont say a thing. The job is stressful enough without crossing those lines.

Or we could simply eliminate this outdated, Cold War relic.

The ironic thing about the pledge is that it was initially conceived by a Socialist named Francis Bellamy, who sought the kind of loyalty to the state that socialists advocated.

During the 1950's, the nutters inserted "under God" in there to show those godless commies!!!

Then don't express such heaping praise for people you wouldn't willingly live among. It is empty, hollow, lacking substance.

If such sentiment were genuine, you wouldn't be on this board right now, you would be out there helping those poor souls in Gaza. But here you are nonetheless.

Have a good morning, Joe.

I have a degree in history.

A degree is one of those things you get when you don't look at the first day of college and say, "It's too hard".

No twisting it at all. America is complicit in Israel's oppression of the Palestinian people.

Teachers are well instructed they should not cross the line in these issues. Defer to the student so as not to upset the parents. Cross the line and you get this. Like it or hate it, these are the facts.

I hate to break it to you, but you're barking up the wrong tree. Sue is (or was) a teacher herself. Trying to argue with her is like trying to argue with experience you don't have.

Tread carefully, proceed at your own peril!

That's a riot. I have nothing further to say. Where did you learn your history? Soviet Russia?

A culture of fear, where we walk on egg shells and self censor our own thoughts, for fear of being destroyed.

I think I will OPPOSE that mindset and that culture.

MAGA.

There are a lot of people I wouldn't willingly live among. I wouldn't want to live in the slums of Chicago. I wouldn't want to live in the trailer parks of the South, either. I wouldn't deny any of those people basic rights and human dignity.

And I find it amusing that a guy who lives on a couch is telling someone who is a veteran and a working professional that "he isn't doing enough".

You are what, 30, now.

Do you want to list your accomplishments by age 30 to mine?

Okay, let's go.

By age 30, I -

Had gotten a bachelor's degree.
Joined the Army (first the reserves, then active duty)
Achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6)
Purchased and managed a rental property.
After my honorable discharge, I was appointed an operations supervisor at a company.

Now, all that said, because I believe in freedom and human dignity, I wouldn't force you to do something you don't want to do, either.

That's a riot. I have nothing further to say. Where did you learn your history? Soviet Russia?

You never have anything to say, Twinkie.

You need to get out and accomplish something first.

But if you knew history, you'd know the Zionist position is a load of horseshit.

She might have bene in a classroom as a teacher. I can recall being in a classroom as a student.

I had teachers give me their opinion on issues. Even ones I strongly disagree with.

This kid is a bully. THe teacher said something he didn't like and the kid used his power to punish the teacher and the school.

The KID is the one in power here, him and his lefty allies in the courts, using the power of the state to terrorize people that dare to speak against them.

Um, that's called "living life".

Most of us have the good sense NOT to say what we are thinking. It's how we all get along in this life.

You must have read the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. That's the only reason you spew such anti-Semitic nonsense.

There is little else I wish to discuss on this subject. Good day.

I understand your viewpoint and I think standing is proper, but then we cant make the kid stand as he wants to express his views also. Its a double edged sword. In the end its one kid. We're behind the ears. Thinking he is important. I blow it off.

There's a difference between a teacher giving his opinion (although it should be relevent to the subject he is teaching) and forcing a student to do something he is fundementally opposed to, and then denigrating this student as being less than American.

Uh, the Palestinians are also a Semitic people, Twinkie. You see, if you read a book, you'd know this.

The problem with Zionism is that it's a European Colonial philosophy dreamed up by Ashkenazi Jews, who saw nothing wrong with dominating the indigenous people of Palestine (including their fellow Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews).

We didn't make the kid stand.
