Latin

Latin is frequently used still in the sciences, and often in past scientific writings.

Learning a little of it along with instruction in Greek allows readers to at least partially understand words they've never seen before and greatly enhances their use and learning rates of several languages. That is why both Latin and Greek are still important as part of a classical liberal education program.

A little story out of my life for everyone here:

In a German forum I was banned more than 10 years ago because I spoke out a Latin prayer for US-American soldiers who had been killed by defending us all who live in the western world. Reason for this ban: I used a foreign language. The joke: Also the Romans (and Celts and Germanics (who also have Celts as ancestors)) are ancestors of the Germans. Without Latin nearly nothing is able to be understood what is German.

Keep guessing.

I guess he's right.

"moron"

Translation:

“moron”
from the Greek (Attic) mōron, neuter of mōros “foolish, dull-witted, sluggish, stupid”, a word of unknown origin. The previously assumed connection with the Sanskrit murah “idiotic” [...] is doubted. The Latin morus “foolish” is a loan word from Greek.

("töricht" means by the way not really "foolish" but DeepL 'thinks' so, törichterweise (=foolishly). "Töricht" means more "unwise". A fool is by the way able to be very intelligent.)

Sure you are a moron - otherwise you had answered and not used 4 times now a negative premanufactured pictured ""thanks"-statement". You seem to think when most people vote for stupidity then stupidity becomes wisdom. You seeno dief3rfcnenb etwenn messenger and message or message and messenger. That's stupid because not always your "enemies" are wrong. Nothing frees you from the burden to find out what's right and wrong.

Why not XXX? All very well highest educated persons on this planet sign their not-messages with "XXX", isn't it?

The Latin language always lived - and still lives - because the Romans wrote each other - in Latin. Slowly the correspondents were replaced with persons of other "nations" = people who not had been educated only under Romans. They continued to correspond in Latin.

Do you need a translation of this quote?

The German translation translated means: "The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts." But what said Marc Aurel really? Your culture calls him Marcus Aurelius, isn't it?

It's somehow nice that you try to create a kind of fake-collective in which all the people who are you seem to think the same. This gives you perhaps the proudness to be a member of a great and strong community and the feeling to live in a kind of mental homeland. Nevertheless it is not important what everyone likes to think or what a special human being likes to think. Truth is important. So for you it is important what you think otherwise your life could fail. So do it: Think! And say what you think! "Sápere aúde" (Immanuel Kant) (="Wage es, weise zu sein" = "Dare to be wise") - better to say "Dímidiúm factó, qui coépit, habét: sapere aúde, íncipe." (Horaz) (=„Frisch gewagt ist halb gewonnen!“+„Wage es weise zu sein!"+„Fang sofort damit an" = “Freshly ventured is half the battle!”+“Dare to be wise!”+"Start now!”)

Your language is only one of many - and the three cultures which have the highest influence on you are the Greek culture, the Roman culture and the German[ic] cultures - while the more modern German[ic] cultures also base on Latin-Rome (the Occident) - what not means to forget the Greek-Roman culture (the Orient). Constantinople, East-Rome, the Orient, died just about 500 years ago. Rome, West-Rome, the Occident, was founded in 800 BC - basing on the Celtic cultures and the Greek culture. Indeed under our mental skin we are all civilisatoric Celts and Greeks - with Egypt-Jewish-Pagan-Shamanistic religions.

Question: Is your heritage African, Indian, Japanese, Chinese and/or another heritage?

None of the above, head case.

Okay ET. Continue to sleep well. Do not forget to destroy your communication device because it was developed from some idiots of the occident ... ah sorry: western world.

By the way: Do you have any concrete reason why you "say" (="not say") something to this what I say?

You are using a strange spaceship, ET. As far as I can see this is made from people of a western culture with tools which had been developed in a western culture. So this picture and everything what is on this picture is here - wherever this "here" is - also because of the Latin (and Greek) language.

You are by the way a typical critics who is no critics at all. So again: Cacatum non est pictum. Why do you try to speak about something when you have absolutelly not any light idea what it is what you try to speak about? ¿Soviet? ¿Trumpican?
