The LAPD should mind their own business. The creator of the song exercised freedom of expression in writing the lyrics which in my view is Grammy worthy.

They are minding their own business. They're investigating that no one in their department was invilved with that song. Bread your own link.

And maybe read a little deeper than you did wherever you got those bogus quotes in your sigline.

Here's a Christmas Poem I wrote, based on the photo of a kid hugging a cop at a protest that went viral.
I'd rather see positive messages in the media to help people rise above the fray and heal.
We can better work out issues by remaining civil and rational, not venting anger, though it's part of grieving to rage.
Not everyone is at the same stages of anger, grief or healing, so it's hard not to judge people for being in different places.

From Tears to Fears: "Days before Christmas"
for Devonte Hart, Sgt. Bret Barnum, photographer Johnny Nguyen,
and their family, friends, and fans on facebook

====================================

Days before Christmas, throughout this great land,
People were raising their voices and hands,
Protesting violence both here and abroad,
Crying for justice and praying to God.

The heavens looked down at what couldn't be righted
Until crowds of people joined hands and united.
"Peace!" they demanded, but didn't believe
Forgiveness was needed before they received.

"How can we appease them?" the angels asked God,
"Burning with rage at injustice and fraud?"
Still at the peak of their anger and grief,
The mobs filled the angels with sad disbelief.

But through clouds of chaos, a prayer was heard,
As meek as the sound of a sweet baby bird.
A young boy was weeping and standing alone,
Holding a sign he had made on his own.

Watching the protestors march down the street,
He offered "Free Hugs," as they spat at his feet.
One girl smiled back but was soon pushed away.
Nobody wanted a "Free Hug" that day.

As the poor boy dropped his sign on the ground,
An officer noticed his tears streaming down.
"What's wrong?" the man asked him, and listened with heart.
The boy's deepest anguish had torn him apart.

He feared police violence he saw on the news
And came to the march, asking people to choose
To love one another with smiles and free hugs,
Not shooting and fighting each other as thugs!

The officer glanced at his handwritten sign,
And asked for a hug, if the boy didn't mind.
They hugged, and a journalist captured his tears:
Embracing a cop had erased his worst fears.

The photo went viral online and worldwide,
Touching more hearts, reaching deeper inside
Than hundreds of rioters marching for miles.
One hug from a boy was enough to bring smiles!

The angels worked quickly to email and text
The message of hope and world peace that came next,
Healing division with heavenly grace,
Humbled by tears on the little boy's face.

Protests continued, but more souls received
Peace from above, while the masses still grieved.
With courage and faith that his prayers were heard,
The boy met more friends, helping him spread the word.

Inspired with visions the angels sent down,
They made greeting cards, which their friends passed around.
With "Free Hugs" for Christmas and through the new year,
The world was their witness that love conquered fear.
===============================

From tears to cheers:
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Yes, the implication is even the angels in Heaven were made to lose faith, but later become humbled, by what they saw on Earth. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God."

Unless the singer was a cop, the LAPD is not the censor of all speech by everyone and has nothing to say.
