I support tracking as long as the companies are regulated to ensure safety and are held accountable for any damage done. If we start throwing the executives of mining companies in prison for poisoning groundwater of of negligence, and male the companies pay out of pocket for cleanup efforts (and not allow them to take those costs off their taxes) the companies might take safety and environmental concerns seriously

For the most part, fracking is regulated by the States. Furthermore, there is no ban on fracking on federal lands. Not likely to be one either.
