The Ku Klux Klan, such as it occasionally represents itself, does have a few valid factual points to make.
First, people need to be armed, defend themselves. There are people wearing hoodies, face masks, etc., disguising themselves. Might not be the ones whose photographs are on the internet, but they're "out there."

People talk nice by day, avoid racial insults, how are they acting at night or otherwise when they aren't being observed or supervised? There's a white school, they don't want black guys picking up white kids from school, there's a white restaurant refusing service to black customers, maybe there's a black guy in a hoodie walking around somewhere at night, knows where all those white people live, and he wants revenge.

White people who owned property in the South, even way back then, had to exhibit a little civility and hospitality to everyone regardless of race. Black people too. Even Eli Whitney, cotton gin inventor and musket arms manufacturer, had company "human resources" or slaves who were black --- anybody who worked hard back then was by definition a slave -- and Whitney wasn't really white enough to be white white himself either.
