I don't know if he has a lawyer yet. If he does, no doubt he's been told to stay quiet. If he doesn't he may just be aware of his rights. We know that sometimes people will just talk even after being given their rights, and clearly he's not.

They are pushing for the death penalty and he is not going to talk his way out of it
