Kimmel's back!

Money overrules political expediency! ABC found that out the hard way!
Didn't watch him before so don't expect I will watch him now. He's never been particularly funny to me and he has this old delivery like he is trying not to laugh at his own jokes before he says them.

Man Show was funny.

Whatever helps you sleep at night I didn't give a flip about Kimmel before this flap I don't today, and I won't five years from now.
Trump is obsessed with TV ratings when the industry is moving away from that...

We are in an era of multiple device non-linear programming... Joe Rogan is great example... He getting no TV ratings but has a massive audience who listen to him.

Personally Jon Steward is my favourite... Thought Stephen Colbert was incredible on the Colbert report, would love if he could resurrect that back on Comedy Channel...

Jon Oliver's format is incredible and deserves all the awards it gets, one of the best piece of television in America...

Across the pond, the UK version(original) of Have I got News for you is brilliant... Brits can do Political Satire way better than the US... Yes, Minister is a stand out..

Last I read, Nexstar and Sinclair are holding firm and not carrying the program. The show was already a ratings loser having lost half the viewers since it peaked. Now, with it not being broadcast in some large markets, it will bleed money. A pyrrhic victory at best.

I’ve not watched the show, ever or any of those other, similar, programs. 10 pm is late for me. Somebody mentioned Girls on Trampolines from another program and YouTube had it. I can see where that would discombobulate the perpetually annoyed.

ETA: I just looked at the websites for those two broadcast groups. They both have many stations that are not ABC and all are medium to smaller markets so their impact is minimal.

Late-night television follows prime time and precedes the overnight television show graveyard slot. The slot generally runs from about 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with variations according to the time zone and broadcaster.

Gutfeld airs earlier than the late night shows, but politicians should not decide whether it airs whenever it airs.

(I don't watch any of them.)

Kimmel didn’t say it was his opinion, and it was news. He clearly violated FCC guidelines.
They were clearly jokes aimed at MAGANUTS and did not tarnish Mr. Kirk. Unlike the unconstitutional use of executive power by Benedict Donald and his regime, who attempt to subvert the 1st Amendment, which apparently Mr. Kirk treasured even for his outspoken political critics or opponents.

For years it's been done across the pubic airwaves. Rush Limbaugh is the perfect example, he claimed his spiels were news. But his lawyer would still claim he was an entertainer. The difference is Rush's Dittoheads truly believe Rushes was news.

suck it *****
Jimmy is back and ready to roast that fat orange ****

"Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming. Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return," the company’s statement read.

Sinclair, which operates 30 ABC affiliates, previously joined Nexstar, another owner of ABC affiliates, in preempting Kimmel’s show last week after he made controversial comments regarding Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin.

/-----/ Kimmel didn't lose his free speech. He can have a blog, a YouTube channel, and write newspaper editorials.

I haven't watched a late show since Leno was on and then only a few times. Used to watch Carson quite a bit. I have never found Kimmell funny.

I have explained it to people on this thread...

The audience for these late night shows don't watch linear programming... They watch clips on phones and tablets... These shows have clips exceeding their TV ratings... Fox Doesn't, Colbert or Jimmy have monologues at 2m+ views, Hannity barely gets 200k but has strong TV ratings....

This is how news and information is being consumed by large proportion under 50.. Look at Joe Rogan...

Still the Administrations tactics can't be ignored. The FCC chairman is a disgrace and needs to resign. Calling for prosecutions without evidence needs to stop. It is a disgrace as well.

Trump publicly pushes Attorney General Pam Bondi to prosecute his political foes

Don't take the bate. This is just a distraction from Trump's shitty economy and Epstein. Stephen Miller knows how to rile us up. Send out a tweet Mr. President.

I've tried Gutt. He's not too funny. Shitty writers, I guess.

I watched Gutfeld for a little while. Then lost interest. You could Hannity and they're basically talking about the same stuff, except that Gutfeld tries to be humorous about it.

Joe Machi is the funniest person on that show. Probably the only one who is truly funny, I would say.

Other than that...meh.

I have not seen that market dynamic realized, anywhere but state run media on FOX NEWS, and you don't even see FOX trying to compete with Colbert and Kimmel.
FOX crushed Colbert and Kimmel every single night. Greg Gutfelds late night comedy show drew more viewers than Kimmel and Colbert combined. :cuckoo:

You didnt care when Bidens admin was doing that. Payback is a *****. We warned you all for 4 straight years what would happen if your party kept doing that to us, but you all just laughed and turned the screws even harder. Whos laughing NOW?

Whats funny is, millions just canceled their Hulu, Disney plus and other stuff, now they have to go back and set it all up again lol
I just threatened them with cancelling. But I explained that between this and Colbert, that's 3 hours x 4 days a week of entertainment that's going to be gone. I told them cable is dying already. I was already considering cancelling cable and buying this thing on Amazon where you can get EVERYTHING for $250 one time fee. My brother has it right now you get EVERYTHING. It's a pirate box. Who knows how long it will work before they figure out how to make them not work but right now you can buy this box that will give you everything, and I mean everything. So just $50 internet a month.

I should do it anyways. I think I'm going to. But now that Jimmy's back the urgency is gone. I'm going to Florida for a month in Feb or March. I'll probably cancel cable before I leave and figure it out when I get back. OR, take the box with me to Florida and use it while I'm there.

Yeah, plague rats must plague, fer shur.
So when Democrats pressure social media to remove millions of voices, you are good with it but when Republicans pressure a station to silence one person, then you are not good with that?

To me both are supressing free speech, it doesn’t matter which party but government should never be allowed to supressing free speech, but you only seem to suppoeprt the constitution when your side is slighted. lol! How silly.
