How do you know? I can't find much of anything on this subject.
Because I have read about the slave trade from the side of Africans. They do have a role in this and it is generally not listened to by whites.

In many cases wars were manufactured by whites who provided arms to certain tribes knowing they could buy the captured slaves. Africans who needed guns could not get them unless they sold slaves to the white arms dealers. So it is safe to assume that the so called legal purchase of slaves was really not so legal.
