All this talk about an add-on the the Keystone pipeline, that would have gave us a measly 830,000 barrels a day and created 10,000 jobs, is silly.

Nothing is ever said about a bigger source of oil and gas that Biden shut down: The Alaska National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).

Drilling in the ANWR would have created over 100,000 jobs, brought in $400 billion in revenue, and had the capability of producing over 11 billion barrels of oil.

And President Biden suspended all drilling leases there in 2021. Peter Doocy should rake Psaki over the coals about this sometime.

"WASHINGTON — The Biden administration on Tuesday suspended oil drilling leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, unspooling a signature achievement of the Trump presidency and delivering on a promise by President Biden to protect the fragile Alaskan tundra from fossil fuel extraction.
The decision sets up a process that could halt drilling in one of the largest tracts of untouched wilderness in the United States, home to migrating waterfowl, caribou and polar bears. But it also lies over as much as 11 billion barrels of oil and Democrats and Republicans have fought over whether to allow drilling there for more than four decades."

This is some stupid shit. You can drill anwr with 2000 people . Keystone XL would only create a thousand temporary jobs. Don't you hate being lied to and treated like a fool?

Biden said he was going to destroy the American oil and gas industries. He promised it, in fact.

@surada

You're some stupid shit and a liar. I would only be a fool if I listened to you.

"By creating a pipeline and drilling in ANWR 450,000 ad 735,000 jobs would be created (United Press International). This will greatly help Alaska’s already high unemployment rate of 8%."

ANWR Affirmative Case

"One pro-development organization notes that full development of ANWR brings the potential of up to 736,000 jobs nationally; a figure definitely aggressive and lessened by the much smaller, 12-parcel lease sale held at the end of 2020. Still, those leases hold the potential for thousands of jobs for Alaskans, and tens of thousands of support and manufacturing jobs across the nation."

One Year Later, ANWR’s Potential Hasn’t Gone Away

"If successful, they could have access to an area with perhaps the highest onshore petroleum reserves yet to be explored in North America. It is estimated that the potential of recoverable oil on the Coastal Plain contains billions of barrels of oil and trillions of cubic feet of recoverable gas. This could lighten America’s dependence on foreign oil and could create upwards of 736,000 new jobs within the industry."

ANWR Drilling

"ANWR has the potential of producing 735,000 new jobs, triple the number of lost jobs.” Hood serves as energy advisor to Teamster Union General President, Jimmy Hoffa and said that as the two travel on the speech circuit together, “President Hoffa mentions ANWR in every speech”. Hoffa has also assigned a government relations professional to assist Hood in his Washington ANWR effort."

If I got that close to Joe, I think I would have to projectile vomit right in his face.

The dumb bitch should have told him she hoped Joe would fully replace fossil fuels first with another energy source both cheaper, cleaner and fully able to meet America's energy needs BEFORE cancelling fossil fuels!

I wonder how many clapping there that day are now CUSSING Joe Biddum as they pay well over $4.00/gallon for gasoline, while rushing out to price a $60,000 shoebox EV with nowhere to plug it in?

Now this is an argument that stands up. Drilling in ANWR would provide oil and gas that belongs to the US, would be refined in the US, and would end up at the gas pumps in the US.

Whether that would lower the prices at the pumps is another question. But it would have to help.

Will JGalt admit that Keystone XL would have created 1,000 temporary jobs, and not the 10,000 that FaceBook LIES told him?

Huh, JGalt ........ was it 1,000 temporary jobs or 10,000 jobs?

The XL jobs were always bullshit. Seriously, how many people do you think are needed to monitor and service a completed pipeline? But the XL was achievable near term. Russia cost the globe 5-7million barrels a day. XL would transport 5-7K per day. That's not insignificant. Of course the tar sands require NG to convert it into oil, making it maybe the most dirty from of oil. But if the XL were functioning today, would I and the vast maj of Americans "welcome" more greenhouse for say ten cents at the pump. Gimme a "hell ya." LOL

I never really saw the logic in not drilling in ANWR. Yes it's "untouched," and yes the sooner we run out of oil the sooner we turn green, but its political, and imo sort of like abortion: the vast maj of us are not absolutists. BUT drilling in ANWR would require not just wells, but roads and even shipping facilities and pipelines, taking years upon years to build before oil began flowing. So, while drilling in ANWR might make sense, it's not gonna do jack shit about prices we pay today.

If Europe chooses not to buy any Russian oil, eventually the oil will go to china. I mean you have to have a pipeline to get oil from one place to another. But Russia and china can build a pipeline from existing oil fields quicker than ANWR being drilled. The US will continue to get almost all of its oil from domestic fields and Canada ... because it's closer. The only reason we buy russian oil is to fit our mix of types of oil we refine. Brent, East Texas Crude, etc. Weight and chemical compounds. So longterm, ANWR might make sense, but it's not really relevant to prices today.
