Kamala Harris secures enough delegates to win nomination

Rubbish .
This outcome has been a virtual certainty for some time and once Schumer and Pelosi supported her --- there were no viable alternatives -- and Obummer bit his lip , the matter was decided and certain .

These three are the current really important decision makers .
However vile you think they are . And they are .

Kamala Harris has the support of enough Democratic delegates to win the party’s nomination for president, according to CNN’s delegate estimate.

While endorsements from delegates continue to come in, Harris has now been backed by well more than the 1,976 pledged delegates she’ll need to win the nomination on the first ballot.

Harris crossed the threshold amid a wave of endorsements from state delegations Monday evening.

These endorsements are not binding and with President Joe Biden out of the race, delegates are free to vote for the candidate of their choice.

CNN’s count comes from public statements of support from delegates and state delegations, CNN reporting and conversations with delegates. Endorsements from state delegations are counted as unanimous support for Harris unless we’ve received other information.

Under a plan outlined by Democratic officials Monday, delegates are expected to vote to confirm Harris as the nominee before August 7.

Great job! Go Kamala! Things are moving quickly...
/—-—-/ Harris secures enough delegates to win the nomination and inherit Dementia Joe's dismal track record. There, I fixed it for you. I'm always happy to help.

Bullshit. Those delegates were empowered to vote for President Biden on the first ballot. They are not authorized to use their own discretion to vote for anyone else without some sort of approval from the Democrat Primary voters. Democracy, Democrat-style.
I read the DNC rules. What is happening, is the the way they are supposed to do it.

A mistake. Dems had a golden opportunity to nominate a candidate who can beat Trump. Maybe even one who can heal some of the idiotic division that the two parties have created. They failed. Again.

Harris can beat Trump and to pick anyone else would destroy the party

Trump can lose to Harris, or at least that is possible. It is (again) merely a question of which embarrasses him or her self the most between now and November.
Thought and prayers go out to America.

You really should read things for yourself and not just your party talking points

even our so called friends want to see America dead in the water.

I don't think she can. And if that's true, if Kamala is the best they can do, when we're facing another Trump term - the party deserves to be destroyed.

It is the best they can do at this point in time.

Beating Trump is not all that hard, Biden did it without even really campaigning. Trump is at the height of his popularity right now between the bump from the convention and the sympathy for him being shot.

All that is needed is a unified party, and with a few exceptions the Dems have rallied behind Harris much quicker than I expected.

I'm sick to death of "unified" partisanship. It's killing the country. What's needed is a candidate who has broad appeal and isn't just relying on partisans to get elected.

/—-/ You wish that was the case. Dream on.

I did not say I was on board, just pointing out the facts of the situation.

/—-/ Your biased opinions are not facts.
Here’s a clue:
fact
noun [ C or U ]

/fækt/ US
something that is known to have happened or to exist, especiallysomething for which proofexists, or about which there is information:
No decision will be made until we know all the facts.

This is something that is known. Every Dem member of the House save one has endorsed Harris, the Dems I know are once again excited about the upcoming election, something that was not the case the last few weeks.

Trump is not hard to beat, we all watched Biden do it 4 years ago.
