A young man new to the city, new to his high school, and new to the country takes some good advice to join a sports team as a way of making friends, improving his English, and engaging the culture of the United States. He finds the courage to come out for the wrestling team and throws himself into the grueling training and sometimes brutal competition despite not knowing the first thing about the sport. Still a beginner with the English language, he follows along as best he can and learns quickly. At his first competition he wrestles JV and fights as best he can with what he has been able to learn in a relatively short time. His two sisters and his mother, who speaks almost no English at all, come out to support him. A supportive family, a young person taking chances to learn and adapt to the culture, and a team cheering him on as if his JV match were the Olympic trials; it was an inspirational day.

That's nice.

NOW LEARN ENGLISH OR **** OFF BACK TO YOUR THIRD WORLD SHIT HOLE.

When I was in HS, wrestling was the most demanding sport, by far.

One would expect such a kid to pursue soccer...probably more popular where he came from.

True, but soccer is a different season.
