jan 8 2026 Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jonathan Ross has been identified as the officer who fatally shot a Minneapolis woman in her SUV on Wednesday.

The 43-year-old agent has worked for ICE since at least 2016, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, which first reported the name of the officer accused of killing 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. Ross previously lived in Texas and currently operates out of ICE field office St. Paul, according to The Intercept.

He was also involved in an ICE arrest involving a Minneapolis motorist in June that left him badly wounded when an undocumented driver dragged him 100 yards down a Minnesota street, causing hand and arm injuries requiring more than 30 stitches, according to court records.

Ross reportedly employed his Taser during that encounter, though driver Roberto Carlos Munoz — a sex offender from Guatemala — managed to temporarily escape.

No, Kristi Noem actually did that, when she started recounting another braindead incident Ross was also involved in last year. The internet simply did it's thing and tracked him down using Noem's own account. At that point there is simply no reason for the media not to report on it.

What people fail to realize is, these officers want to actually go home to their families after they get off work instead of winding up dead. But when you get into a situation where you are law enforcement and someone is actively defying you, you have no idea if they have a weapon and that this might be your last day on earth. Simply put, bad things are bound to happen in such cases.

But the media has no interest in that. No, the media simply wants to put the name of the ICE agent out there so that people will begin to threaten the lives of the officer and his family and destroy his career, all before guilt or innocence can be assessed in a court of law.
