Slow horse got it wrong, the president does not administer the spending of money/——/ That’s a stark change from “Trump spent us $17 trillion into debt.”
Biden ran his clown show on exactly that. Why do you all think an executive order is some magical remedy?
You plainly said he was "a federal judge at the state level authority".
Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
He has FEDERAL level authority.
Goddam, you are unbelievably obtuse!
/----/ Then Trump will follow suit and judge shop too. He's a judge appointed by Barack Obama. Gee, why do you think they'd bring suit in Rhode Island? Duh? The Democrats are desperate to stop Trump from shrinking the size of the Federal Government because they know it's one of their few remaining power bases and without those votes it's all over for them. So they go judge shopping...get one they know will give them the verdict they want and force Trump to appeal his verdict. The Democrats need to keep the Federal Government as bloated as they possibly can. Do they care if that's bad for the country? LOL. Come on...these are the same people who just gave us four years of Joe Biden! They could care less if it's bad for the country as long as it keeps them in power.
He should ignore this so called judge.‘A federal judge in Rhode Island has formally blocked the Trump administration's spending freeze, saying in an order this afternoon that the funding freeze is likely a violation of the Constitution.
[…]
"The Court finds that the record now before it substantiates the likelihood of a successful claim that the Executive's actions violate the Constitution and statutes of the United States," he added in the 13-page decision in the lawsuit filed by 22 state attorneys general.
[…]
Even after the OMB rescinded the memo on Wednesday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt posted on X, claiming, "This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze. It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo.
[…]
"Based on the Press Secretary’s unequivocal statement and the continued actions of Executive agencies, the Court finds that the policies in the OMB Directive that the States challenge here are still in full force and effect and thus the issues presented in the States’ TRO motion are not moot," he said.
The judge warned that there was "more than monetary harm" at stake with the case.
As Justice Anthony Kennedy reminds us, 'Liberty is always at stake when one or more of the branches seek to transgress the separation of powers,'" he wrote.’

Very good.
At least we have a semi-functional judiciary that will check Trump’s corruption and lawlessness.
That would be an impeachable offense in my mind.He should ignore this so called judge.
Yes, checks and balances. That would be an impeachable offense in my mind.
The constitution relies on checks and balance. Allowing presidents to ignore rulings they don’t like is extremely dangerous and would permit authoritarian dictatorships.
/----/ Like Joe ignoring the USSC on college loan forgiveness? You mean like that? That would be an impeachable offense in my mind.

Hard to say since that didn’t happen./----/ Like Joe ignoring the USSC on college loan forgiveness? You mean like that?
You dont sit on the SC and neither do IYou mean states that don't immediately comply with Trump's bullshit edict to scrub the existence of DEI from their state?
If so, then consider whether or not an executive order is a "federal law" (it's not). Furthermore, they can't really order states to comply with an executive order because the states are sovereign and have their own laws and constitutions.
Now he can attempt to COERCE them into compliance, by threatening to withhold or cutoff money that they receive from the federal government but as we just saw, Trump can't just come in and demand that everyone comply with his every demand or EO.
Not without a fight.
Nope. SCOTUS struck down one forgiveness program so they went back to the drawing board and came up with a different program with different legal justification./—-/ It didn’t happen except when it did.
Biden’s Student Loan Boast: The Supreme Court ‘Didn’t Stop Me’
The President ignores the law again as he forgives more student debt. The total is now $138 billion and counting
/——-/ “The President ignores the law again as he forgives more student debt.”Nope. SCOTUS struck down one forgiveness program so they went back to the drawing board and came up with a different program with different legal justification.
It would take another lawsuit and decision to strike down the subsequent program.
A fine opinion but one which carries no legal authority. Let me know when SCOTUS agrees. Until then, your argument is unsubstantiated.“The President ignores the law again as he forgives more student debt.”
/—-/ I supported my post claiming Biden ignored the USSC. GEEZE try and keep up.A fine opinion but one which carries no legal authority. Let me know when SCOTUS agrees. Until then, your argument is unsubstantiated.
Nope. You just don’t understand what the SC said and what they didn’t say./—-/ Supported my post claiming Biden ignored the USSC. GEEZE try and keep up.
/—-/ I edited my post. Please check it.Nope. You just don’t understand what the SC said and what they didn’t say.
Changes nothing. SC issued a ruling that the Biden administration couldn’t proceed with a particular student loan forgiveness program based on a particular law./—-/ I edited my post. Please check it.
