Leftist Backwards Jim...Mussolini and all the fascists were leftists. No wonder you are so goofy and don't get anything right.
As a matter of political science, you've got it backwards.
"Right wing" means a belief in a social hierarchy, and that some people (for example, someone who works hard, every day) deserve more of the benefits of society (such as a nice house or lower taxes). "Left wing," on the other hand, refers to a belief in equality for all, without considering whether someone deserves it, which is why socialism fits in so well on the left.
Mussolini started as one of the Italian socialists, who essentially advocated seizing industry from private ownership and giving it to the government, as the then-shiny-new Soviet Union did, for the benefit of all. (That was the promise, anyway.) After the socialists booted him, Mussolini created the Italian Fascists in the 1920s, with one tweak: The only people who deserve the extra benefits are the "true" Italians, inheritors of Rome's lost glory, and they'll cut out the pretenders, outsiders, and leftists who don't deserve it. That swung them clearly from the left to the right.
Fascism (whether big-F or little-f) is overwhelmingly nationalistic, preaching that people of their nation and party deserve more benefits of society, and that puts them clearly in the right wing. Nazism is simply fascism adapted to Germany, which says that white, Aryan Nazis are the ones who deserve more—also, right wing. Capitalism, though, is also right wing, mostly because of the "work hard" ethic I mentioned before.
Socialism, on the other hand, wants public ownership of industry with its merits distributed equally, the hallmark of the left wing. Communism is a dictatorship based on socialism, so it is based on the (unfulfillable) promise of ultimate socialism, so if anything, it is even lefter than the socialist left.
And there you are.
TL: DR -
Socialists are from the left, because they want ultimate equality (and Communism is on the dictatorial, extreme, anti-democratic far left)
- while -
Capitalists are from the right, because they want social hierarchy (and fascism and Nazism are on the dictatorial, extreme, anti-democratic far right).
