I liked John's songs on that album; McCartney II, which was the supposed inspiration for DF, sucked.
Wait! You're not a fan of The Plastic Ono Band?!

Let me think...NO!!
Nope. The nutbar did.God didn’t take him. The state did.

Murdered by the state?
REally?
Lennon was an OK musician and a good songwriter but I don't think he was any better than thousands of other songwriters
Not a huge fan of Lennon, Harrison was the best IMO.
Outside of Beatles, wasn't a fan of Lennon's other music either.
Unremarkable is the word.
I did not like "Imagine". It was an obvious song about communism, with John Lennon himself saying "virtually a communistic manifesto"...and saying he was "putting his political message with a little honey".
I thought he was murdered by a fucking mental case. Now you say he was murdered by the “state.” Wow. Who knew?
Imagine was the result of the Beatles first contracts with EMI and Brian Epstein who ripped off each Beatle.
The guy who killed Lennon was clearly insane but was convicted of murder. The guy who shot Reagan was motivated by political hatred and was as sane as you and me but was found not guilty by way of insanity. Go figure.
Seriously?
That's like saying Beethoven was an "okay composer."
Sleazy lawyers ...
Seriously, Beethoven wrote 722 musical compositions, most of which are considered to be among the best ever written. Two-hundred years later, his works are still being performed by the world's great musicians.
Lennon wrote 73 songs for The Beatles. Including this travesty ...
For a commie, he sure loved money. That's not what Lennon said. He directly said it was the Communist Manifesto dumbed down and sugar coated to appeal to the stupid.
Harrison was a plagairist.
Not just the "My Sweet Lord" thing either.
When Pete Hamm's wife died they cleared out her flat and found "Here Come's the Sun" handwritten in Pete's things. Harrison recorded and published the song as his own, even though he knew full well his friend wrote it. I know the relationship between Badfinger and the Beatles was odd, still this struck me as really shitty on the part of Harrison.
Here is Pete playing with George singing.
Then you don't know his politics.Yes and a political genius too.
He wasn’t shot in the head. Four rounds went into his back.I guess he never “ imagined “ that he would get a bullet through his head in nyc
I’m not a communist but unlike I’m intelligent enough to recognize someone like Lennon, who was a political genius. You might research his anti war and anti state positions, before making the typical statist conclusion he was a commie and for that reason alone unworthy. A conclusion given to you by the state Lennon despised. Then you don't know his politics.
I never took you for a communist. As Lennon himself said he was.
