And to fair, so was President George W. Bush, who just a few days after the 9/11 attacks addressed Muslims at the Islamic Center in D.C. and said the bullshit line: "The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That's not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace."

They've been warning about the danger of systemic prejudice and harm to followers of Islam since the attacks occurred. It's been 20 years later and has ANY of these dire warnings come to fruition?

As an aside of sorts, Bush may have made some serious missteps. He was similar in a different manner to Trump in one aspect that he deserves some credit for, his unpredictability and gaul.
